My kids are there own beings. For me to think I could ride on there shirt strings or anyone else's I feel is selfish.
Success is measured many different ways as well. The most popular belief is money or fame. I personally could care less who is related to whom.
So I ask you " Do you believe your success in life is measured by the success of your children?" ;0)
My niece is a prime example and she ended up coming to live with us her senior year. My significant other ( now husband) and I did a lot to help her get back on track as far as giving her some life skills. Getting to work on time, paying your bills, organizing your time, getting to school, homework!!!! She never got that at home.
Now as far as my children going on in life and making alot of money. That's on them. I feel good to know that my 17 year old son still enjoys family time and shows his love for his 5 year old sister in public!! I count that as a success and think that came from what we showed him.
Very interesting question and very subjective.
