Cancelled! No Drivers Test for YOU!
According to reports the New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer will abandon the plan to issue illegal immigrants drivers licenses. Spitzer said overwhelming public opposition led to his decision.
Is the real reason this became an issue for New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign? Appears to me one way for both to avoid upsetting the overall population and at the same time get the hearts of illegal immigrants and those who sympathize with them.
Could this be another stunt that was orchestrated by the Democrat party much like establishing plants at a college speech to ask questions?
Well I say well done! However we are not all so naïve to think these events just happen without some planning.

"I support Governor Spitzer's decision today to withdraw his proposal," Clinton said in a statement. "As president, I will not support driver's licenses for undocumented people and will press for comprehensive immigration reform that deals with all of the issues around illegal immigration including border security and fixing our broken system."
WOW- Right like we did not call that!

"When it takes two weeks and six different positions to answer one question on immigration, it's easier to understand why the Clinton campaign would rather plant their questions than answer them," said Barack Obama spokesman Bill Burton, referring to the Clinton campaign's admission that aides had staged a question for her at an Iowa event.
Come on Hillary these games are very old.

Now if your attempting to be specific with Bush back in 2005 talking with the troops in Iraq, I think its hard to have a bunch of American civilians at the location..and yes it was somewhat scripted but then again, US military personal can only talk to the press when authorized and that includes these events.
A decision to not approve drivers licenses for Illigal Immigrants in NY though doesn't seem like much of a big impactful decision for different reasons. I've lived there. There's a shop on every corner with a back room that will sell illegal driver licenses. (That's ironic isn't it, "illegal driver licenses" for"illegal immigrants.") If they don't want to spend that stipend of money, from what I've seen they drive anyway. Apparently some of the problem goes to there not being a big enough deterrent (penalty) when they are caught. The stories of those killed by these drivers are particularly sad ones, especially so with repeat offenders. Thanks for another great topic!

Francis-If you carry uninsured motorist insurance like all citizens should by NY Law they are covered.
UM coverage provides protection to you, resident relatives, and passengers in your vehicle-if involved in an accident with someone who has no liability coverage or just too little insurance to cover your damages. It also provides coverage if you are injured in a hit and run accident.
Citizen can also buy collision to cover the auto.
