I'm not sure, most of the ones I've gotten that have views of over 100, were purely accidental, and on topics that really surprised me by how controversial they became. :(

The way my mind works, if I saw at least a few that had several views like that, which I haven't, I'd compare and see what they all have in common. I noticed there is a thing to click on to email articles to other people, maybe that is how? I never did that yet.

Often those with thousands of views etc. are being picked up by Google etc. search engines and not all views are from Gather members. I have one post like that in which if you "googled" (searched) for "Dog Spirits" you would see it as the number one listing on Google under those search words. I guess a lot of people search for that on the net... (surprised me by the way, LOL)
So I imagine if you wrote about some celebrity, or hot topic with a broad interest outside of Gather itself, you could get the same results... a lot of views.

I was told about that John, from someone. But, how do you get it on Google is my question? I did a post on Dom DeLuise and was amazing enough got 86 views, and the first one to put on Gather. But, I still didn't hit that hundred mark. Thanks for your comments. Keep them coming. If you find out anything let me know. Smiles

In a nutshell---tags. That's what "tags" do. If you use precise tags and also use these search words in your title and in the text of the article, your post in all probability will come to the forefront of a google search. The person who is conducting the search may actually read your article, but not be a Gather member, in which case he or she probably won't bother to sign up in order to rate or comment. But---you will be credited with a "view".
