My day began at roughly 2:45 am. I get a call from my youngest daughter. She's crying. That's enough to put a scare into you at that time of night. Then I hear her baby crying, so that relieved my first thought of something tragic. Mom I don't know what to do. I knew that Layne was sick so I told her to take him to the emergency room. The hospital would take her, the clinic wouldn't because of no insurance. Are you sure? I can't afford that. She says. So we had a brief descussion about it before she says Okay you are coming with me. Great I need a shower, look like heck. So I get up and just about out the door when Harley and Levi woke up. Gave them a short glass of milk put them back to bed. Now I don't know why I didn't have Ashley come get me as she has a car and it is pretty chilly out. But I walked over to her house just to see that the car wasn't warming up, get in she and the baby aren't dressed. She did just take him out of the tub, trying to cool him down. Which was good. Well another 10 minutes we are on our way to the er. I will have to give this glorified first aid station some credit this time. They treated Mom and Baby with respect and them not having insurance wasn't an issue. Gave him the medicine he needed and out the door in less than 20 minutes. I am sure that bill is going to be outrages. My husband went about a month ago they charged him 250.00 for ear drops. Well he didn't take that lightly raised a little bit of a stink with them and got about a 100.00 dollars nocked off of the total bill.
A few years ago, I went with a friend and her child with state coverage, boy she got lectured for using the er. it was sad.
My other daughter would take her daughter into the clinic or the er. and wouldn't get any satisfaction from them no medicine just a bill. I finally got fed up with it and made my husband go with them to the clinic. He protested. So I explained to him the need for him to go. He has away with doctors. The baby got the medicine she needed, and no hurt feelings, no court cases, and no law suits. I wish that I could talk to people like he does. He usually gets his way.
So anyway we get home, and Ashley gives Layne the rest of his medicine, 3 in all he has to take. Then she says Now I just put him to bed? Yes, he looks like he's up for atleast another 30 minutes but see if he will lie down.
So far since being home I have dealt with two more babies and it's time for the adults to get up now for the day.
I hope your day will be a good one.
