Good enough.
Successful enough.
Thin enough.
Rich enough.
Socially responsible enough.
When you have self-respect, you have enough."

"A man who uses his hands is a laborer.
One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman.
He who uses his hands, and his mind,
and his heart is an artist."

One summer night, out on a flat headland, all but surrounded by the waters of the bay, the horizons were remote and distant rims on the edge of space. Millions of stars blazed in darkness, and on the far shore a few lights burned in cottages. Otherwise there was no reminder of human life. My companion and I were alone with the stars: the misty river of the Milky Way flowing across the sky, the patterns of the constellations standing out bright and clear, a blazing planet low on the horizon. It occurred to me that if this were a sight that could be seen only once in a century, this little headland would be thronged with spectators. But it can be see many scores of nights in any year, and so the lights burned in the cottages and the inhabitants probably gave not a thought to the beauty overhead; and because they could see it almost any night, perhaps they never will. ~Rachel Carson
Artistic growth is, more than it is anything else, a refining of the sense of truthfulness. The stupid believe that to be truthful is easy; only the artist, the great artist, knows how difficult it is. ~Willa Cather

Great one! My favorite of these is Dr. Seuss'. My favorite quote other than these is "It never occurred to (Frank Lloyd Wright) to set limits on himself."
I like quotes. I have a Book of Quotes that was copyrighted in the 1800's
I wouldn't give anything for it, and its worth a lot of money because its a first addition.

One thing though I found it hard to read letters so bright
kinda was a strain on these old eyes.
i liked this one the most...though that may change upon a second read, which will not be long in coming:
"A man who uses his hands is a laborer.
One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman.
He who uses his hands, and his mind,
and his heart is an artist."
