I hate the White Screen of Death. When I see it as a programmer, it means that I screwed something up to the point that my program cannot cohesively give me output. It's incredibly frustrating when the program I'm working on is located on a distant server, out of my direct reach, and thus I have to debug by trial and error until I figure out what it is I did wrong and fix it.
Unfortunately, I'm running into a White Screen of Death here on Gather -- usually when working on my feature articles, when it's most frustrating. Worse, if I happen to run into one after having saved a draft, I automatically lose anything I did between when I did the draft and when I tried to actually publish, whereas without the draft, I at least have a reasonable chance of backing out to the article and copying everything into another 'create new article' page.
Still, if this keeps up, I'm going to have to compose all of my articles in Dreamweaver and then transpose them to Gather, which is very frustrating when the site has a WYSIWYG editor built into it already.
(Yes, I already reported this to Gather Member Support; it's happened to me repeatedly, but this last time was annoying enough to make me send in a trouble ticket. I'm just still cranky about it, because even though I'm now making a backup copy of practically every article I write 'just in case', those times I forget and actually lose something are even more annoying now that this happens practically every time I spend too long on a single article. Argh!)
