Today I have my surgery at 4pm. I drove all the way to my Primary Care doctor's office this morning only to find out that I had wrtten down the wrong time, so I missed my physical. Now I have to wait until July to get in again. He is always so booked.
So, now I have only a little bit of time left before I go in for the surgery. I am going to try to get some laundry and dishes done before I leave at 3:20, and then I don't know how much I will be able to do.
I talked with the nurse there yesterday, and she said that I would need to wear the post-op shoe for up to two weeks and then I would need to be seen again to have the sutures removed! Urgh, I thought I would only have to wear it for around a week an then it would be better, I guess I had no idea just how long the healing process could take and how long it could be painful. I just wanted it done! I am still hopeful, however, that I will be able to take Robert James to his last gymnastics class that is tomorrow.
I am getting a bit anxious, too. I have been trying to take deep breaths and rationalize my anxiety. I have after all given birth to a child without medication so I should be just fine....

I asked him if I could take my son to his class tomorrow and he said yes, but warned me not to drive with the post-op boot on because I could get into "trouble". I will just take it off to drive and then replace it when I get there.
So, so far so good. I am really hoping that it won't be all that painful. Thanks to everyone for the very nice comments and well wishes :)
