Now that it's winter time, I'm looking for things I can do with my toddler inside. Playing outside is not an option most days here (I live in North Dakota where the wind chill is often below zero). My son is very active, and I am already having a hard time finding things to do to keep him busy. We don't have any indoor playgrounds in our small town. We do go to the gym twice a week, but really that's about the only place that he can go to a playground to play.
My son is almost 2. He likes to "help" around the house (he puts his own clothes in his bottom two dressers and picks things up when I vacuum or mop). He also likes to "help" me when I cook.
I just need more ideas for ways to keep him entertained. He's starting to get tired of just coloring, and things like that.

another page of playdough recipes and links to lots more activities and recipes for fun things to do with babies and toddlers
let him help make some different designed cookies.
then bake
let him see the finish product
(small amount at a time as his attention span is short.
Imaginative playing - you wouldn't believe how much fun an empty cardboard box is at that age.
Try making butter at home - all it needs is a tightly sealing jar, some marbles and heavy cream. Put the cream in the jar with the marbles and shake. (http://pbskids.org/rogers/parentsteachers/theme/1696_t_act.html)
