Home Repair Programs

I don't know if it's because Rick and I bought a house last October, or because I'm just that boring of a human being, but I think I'm addicted to home repair/beautification shows. I think if I could just sit at home all day, I would do nothing but watch HG TV and TLC.

It started with that awesome show, Trading Spaces. I completely worshipped that show! Not to mention the fact that I had a mondo crush on Ty Pennington. Sadly he is no longer on that show, and I found that after the millions of changes that have gone on over the years, I don't like the show as much any more.

Now, however, I love HG TV. That channel is made for me I think. I can watch show after show on that station and never be bored. I love the information (although I have not acted on any of it) that the shows give you, and I also love to see all the beautiful homes they feature on some of the shows.

What about anyone else? What do you think of any home related tv shows?

I used to wander the isles of home improvement stores until close. I loved the shows until I lived them. I am remodeling my 2nd house in 5 years-now I dread trips to Home @#*$ Depot. Although, I found myself watching again today-I too could have that perfectly organized garage. If only....

My friend and I have a dream of becoming "Flippers" like all the people do on TV. I just think that would be an awesome job and that you could really heap big rewards at the end of the process!

I have the same addiction. I bought this fixer up condo all most two years ago and still dream of doing things to it. I am trying to get brave enough to work on the electrical.

I'd like to get a crew from those shows to come here and finish all the half-started and wanna-do-but-haven't-done-anything-except-get-the-idea-from-a-HGTV show projects. We have had our 1894 tiny victorian for two years. The restoration of the front outside is rewarding but intense and lengthy. Scaffolding has been up so long, it no longer looks bad to me. That can't be good. Flipping does sound like fun, though risky in current market.

We watch a lot of those shows. We also watch the food network a lot.

I actually love the kid version of Trading Spaces. What they do to their rooms is so cool!
I would watch them all day too. Unfortunately sometimes they will depress me when I realize that I don't have the money to do what they are doing.
