A glad good morning on this cement-hued Saturday. Where is the California sun? I look out of my window and see nothing but gray. Hopefully, things are better wherever you happen to be. This is my last weekend in Santa Barbara for a while. We have a few errands and then we'll play. I'm thinking we will do our hill walk, go to Trader Joe's, and then just hang around the house with the animals. Remember I leave them for many months and go tend to others down in Louisiana. That's a whole other story and I'll be writing about all that once I'm down there.
Packing is at the top of my to-do list. Louisiana in the summertime is steamy and hot. I love it. Truly, my bones are always cold and I look forward to soaking up that humidity. I'll lose weight and have less wrinkles. Yes, I try to look at the good side of everything. I just purchased some new summer glad rags. I'll buy more once I lose five pounds and have a waistline again.
So, dear friends, with this Saturday ticking away as we speak. What are you up to? What are you doing? Are you cooking? Delight us with the details. Are you decorating? I know someone is dying to tell us about it. Are you planning to go on a trip? Describe what you wish to see. Do you need another vacation to get over the one you just took? What is on your Plate Today? Thank you. Salud.

The rest of my day will be spent answering questions posed by an inquisitive 5 year old!
I have been recovering from the triple point frenzy: reading papers, going through the mail from the week, watering flowers, etc. My son in law came over this morning and put my air conditioner back in my bedroom window. Hooray! I don't run it all the time, but when I come home from work at midnight, it is nice to have a cool room for sleeping. Of course, with this broken arm, I haven't worked in almost 2 months. He also fixed a sandbox in the back yard for my 4 yr old grandson to play in when he is here. My son in law is coming back early tomorrow to mow my front and back yard. I don't have a working lawn mower and couldn't push it anyway with one arm.
I decided I had to get busy with exercise again as I have been sitting around for months not doing my usual workout routine at the YMCA. So I went on a 4 mile walk. It wasn't particularly scenic as I wanted to walk that specific distance so just walked down a nearby road and back. It was 76 when I left the house and 89 when I returned!
Today is my daughter's birthday but we are having her party tomorrow. Will go out to dinner with her kids and some friends.
That's it for now. Have a safe trip to Louisiana. Will look forward to hearing of your adventures there.
Back home, Jay & I teamed up to get the last of the window air conditioners in place – unlike you, Mariana, I totally wilt in the humidity! Catching up on email now and glad to get your msg! Next I'll work more on my pictures from our trip; I am putting together my trip diary with photos but it takes a while to sort through, resize, etc. (I took about a thousand photos.) The skies are turning dark gray now, a little thunder in the distance so we'll probably have to do our burgers indoors tonight. Have a wonderful rest-of-the-weekend!
After raining for 3 days this week, the sun is finally shining. It seems you will be arriving in state just in time to catch the beginning of the really humid summer days!
It looks like it's getting ready to storm. Maybe I won't get that posey planted today, after all.
I also hit garage sales this morning in search of a summer selection of better fitting clothes, I found some for me, but more for the family.
The kids are at thier Paw-paws, dh and I are going out to eat. Just a couple more days until we get our favorite cajun back into the state....I can't wait.
I hope you will have internet in Louisiana and will continue to write articles and share your photos with us.
Please do tell us about your Louisiana visit. I don't really think I could tolerate the humidity but if you like it, you go, girl!
