Happy National Novel Writing Month!

Wow. That subject line sure was a mouthful. Anyway, since it's November 1st, I thought I'd let you all know that National Novel Writing Month starts today!

The goal of Nanowrimo (as they call it) is to encourage people to complete a 50,000 word manuscript. In general, fictional manuscripts are around 80,000 – 90,000 words, but anything that inspires people to write is a good thing!

How many of you are up to the challenge! What will you write about?

Let's hope that everyone doesn't get the idea to post all of this writing on Gather for the rest of us to suffer through. That said, this is the first time I am going to try this exercise in insanity. And yes, I promise not to post this purple prose here or anywhere else on December 1.

I signed up for NaNoWriMo. I'll be writing Chasing the Moon... I have no idea what the story will be. I'm planning to post the chapters at http://chasingthemoon.blogspot.com. Wish me luck and stamina.

I signed up for the first time this year also. Now after the comments I've seen here, I am not encouraged. But, I'm always up for a challenge. I certainly wouldn't bother anyone on gather about my novel.
