I've been trying to get my fall cleaning done. It's been pretty slow-going, because there is only so much one can accomplish with a preschooler (who doesn't nap) in the house.
Today though, Maddie managed to entertain herself for most of the day. I managed to get the following things taken care of:
- Wiped down all of my kitchen drawers and cabinets with Murphy's Oil Soap
- Did 3 loads of laundry
- Unloaded the dishwasher
- Wiped down the bannisters to my staircase with Murphy's
- Took apart the overhead light in my kitchen, rinsed everything in soap and water, and reassembled
- Danced with Maddie to Michael Jackson's "Beat It"
- Vacuumed out the dryer vent and took care of all the dust and lint that accumulates in the laundry room
- Took the glass down from the vanity fixtures in all three of my bathrooms, rinsed in soapy water, and reassembled. I also wiped down the fixtures themselves. There were 11 glass pieces to clean.
- Cleaned the washing machine with Washer Magic
- Went over Maddie's sight words with her (she's up to 107 now!)
- Took out the garbage
- Cleaned up a ceramic elephant that my dad had given me (it was my grandma's), and put it up above my kitchen cabinets.
- Shredded a bunch of old stuff
- Made a cake for my hubby to take to work tomorrow (tomorrow's his one-year anniversary at his job). Maddie helped with this, which she was pretty excited about.
I've had a full day!

I did some shopping at Target & my grocery store, made a loaf of bread, dishes (cleaned & put away!), and I think that was about it.
