Egg allergies are less common than most people think. Like any potentially allergenic food, an egg can cause a reaction, but if it does, the effect is immediate and striking, leaving no question and warning you to keep your little one away from eggs-at least for a while.
Opinions vary-whites only, yolks only, wait a year-but experience has taught me that a whole egg is perfectly healthy for babies as early as solid foods are introduced-around six months provided there is no close (first degree relative) family history of severe allergies. Just make sure the yolk and white are cooked until solid, so a well-cooked scrambled egg or mini-omelette is fine or mash a boiled egg into a cheese sauce with some vegetables.

· Brain development
· Eyes and visual acuity
· Nervous system
Delaying the exposure to eggs won't prevent a reaction in a child who is allergic. Mild sensitivity to eggs is more common than actual allergy, but the effects (such as hives) are relatively untroubling. Because they may not recur each time your child eats an egg, you don't need to enforce a strict no-egg policy unless the reactions get progressively worse.
Scrambled eggs make a quick and nutritious breakfast. Serve them with a toasted bagel or buttered toast. For a special breakfast or brunch, add strips of bacon or smoked salmon. Try this recipe for Scrambled Eggs with Cheese & Tomatoes-it's perfect for kids 18 months-old and up!

2 eggs
1 Tbsp milk or heavy cream
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 Tbsp butter
1 tomato, peeled, deseeded, and chopped
2 Tbsp grated Greyére cheese

Another memory I have, when I was a little girl and my mother made cheese & eggs. The pan was a pain to clean, but oh the product was wonderful. Kind of reminds me of this recipe. Thanks for sharing that recipe. Nicely done.
We gave our daughter egg yolks last weekend and they made her really gassy!
When I was a child, my sister hated eggs and wouldn't eat them so my mom baked with them and she never knew. They were in the famous oatmeal cookies and in the coffee cake. She had no idea. They were in the pancakes too. She ate them but had no idea they were hidden in there until she was much older.
Janet, that is a fun idea to make the eggs in the onion rings. Never thought of that. I've done it in the bread with the hole (Toad in a Hole) but never in an onion ring. Cool.
And tomato allergies are *far more* common--and potentially deadly--than most people think. The worst is not visible outside; instead, the victim's inner respiratory system is swelling closed, leading to death in a few minutes.
I seriously wish restaurants would stop dumping tomatoes in and on everything in sight and jamming them into sandwiches. Picking the tomato off doesn't help; the juice left behind is enough to trigger at least a bad case of hives or the really deadly internal reaction.
Every Saturday is pancak day in our house --- it's our children's favorite and they really look forward to it!
While we lived in Europe, we would usually get a special kind of bread on special occasions. This bread is not available in Florida, and I have not found a great recipe yet. Instead, we have now adopted the American tradition of getting pancakes for breakfast. I usually make the boys pancakes once every weekend, and of course they love it.
One thing that we try to do at least a couple of times a month is make pancakes. I make them from scratch and let my two year old help me mix them up. Then I make this peanut butter syrup that is so good. My mom always made it for us when we were growing up. It's simple to make. It's just sugar, milk, and peanut butter. It's not something that I would let my son have every day, but he loves it as a special treat!
doz eggs/ cooked drained sausage/1/2 loaf bread/pepper/ cheese 1c mozerella & 1/4 c parmasan - beat eggs well tear bread into small pieces (remove crusts) - mix altoghter in 9X13 glass pan
you make the night before leave sit in frig overnight cook in cold oven in morning.
about 325 for around 45 min to 1 hr
my son always helped making this, i think the enjoyment comes from ripping the bread apart
by making the night before everyone can have a little cuddle time in the morning
I especially like this for christmas and on sundays.
at christmas while it is baking we open gifts
on sudays we can all get ready then eat together.
it doesn't leave someone cooking and the family can be together.
when you were sick you always had a poached egg on toast.
i still do this today and for my family.
