Do you go to your High School Reunions?

I was never invited to a single one. There have been two now and though they were given my address and phone number, the invites were never sent.

Oh well! The planners were a bunch of Snobs anyway!

thats sad ya feel that way! I mean ya cant control what they all did ya know. I have not yet had mine lol and I am planning on going.. our class was all good friends and so IM ready to see everyone and their kids!

I graduated from an alternative high school, and we don't have reunions. Of course, the graduating class was 26- and that was the largest in recent years. That was in 97. In 05, I went back for the graduation of my sister, and the teachers said that 26 was a record still.

Never. No way. High school was a miserable time in my life. I don't want to relive any of it.

I went to my 10 year and I had a blast!

Of course, I had lost 60 pounds from when I graduated high school to when I had my reunion, so I had a lot of fun getting double-takes and stares from the guys I used to have crushes on!

My twenty year reunion is coming up in 2009! OMG!

Nope. I have never been to any of my school reunions. There is nobody there that I want to see. Besides they drink at the reunion and I dont drink so I just stay away. I graduated in 1978

I went twice and won't go again, most of the ones who showed up aren't the ones I wanted to see anyway.

I do go to mine...but then I graduated where I live and my entire graduating class was 42 people. We see each other all the time now. We all went from k-12 together.

I never hung out or associated with any of them when I was in school...and I've had no contact with any of them since, so why would I want to go and spend an evening with them once graduation rolled around? I'm sure lots of them haven't changed and I'm not about to put up with the same, old, childish crap.

Nope and have no desire to attend them.

our school only ever has one... the 10 year reunion. I couldn't leave here at the time, and also couldn't afford it (3000 miles away) so didn't go, though I would have loved to, because it was a small school and small town and everyone knew everyone they weren't related to

I went to my 10 year reunion and had a great time. I'm such a nosy-nora that I just HAD to see what had become of everyone. I wish my school would have done a 15 year one too, but alas, I don't think my next one is until 20 years.

I went to my 15 year in 2001. I skipped the 20 year though.

Nope...and I have no desire to go either....the 10 yr. was way too expensive ($100 a person)...and we live too far away anyways.

I went to the 5 and 10 year and had fun (didn't think I would) we did not have a 15 year reunion but I was pregnant and on bedrest and would not have gone. I did not go to my 20 year (can't remember why) and we did not have a 25 year which would have been in 2007. My 30 year reunion is 5 years away (if we have one). At this time I'm leaning towards not going but I never say never.

We finally had one last year for the 15 year reunion but I didn't attend. I don't live near the area anymore and really don't have a desire to attend.

I wimped out and didn't go to mine. I didn't feel like I was successful enough, because I'm not this hot shot with a great job and 2.5 kids yet. Some of my friends went and they said it was a good time and everyone was different than when they were in high school. So now I kind of regret not going, but hey, everyone is on myspace anyway if I really wanted to talk to them.

LOL, not to say it is funny that these people's lives didn't turn out better, just the way you phrased it. I went to school in middle America with the all American group of kids. I also still live in the town that I graduated from, so I guess if I really wanted to see any of them, I should just hang out at the Wal-Mart or the bar. I didn't go to my 5 year because nobody knew about it. Never got a call, letter, nothing. The only thing that was done was an article in the newspaper that nobody my age would actually read.

I haven't gone to the past ones. My twenty is next year, like Kathy's. I have been toying with the idea, but I doubt that I will bother. I am such a different person than I was and have even less in common with those people now than I did then, if that is even possible. (I do talk to a couple of them once or twice a year)

Man, 20 years, you would think that I would feel like a grown-up by now. I sure don't. It would be interesting to see how old everyone looks, because I know that I still look younger than I am and even weigh less, but that is a really catty reason to go....

I went to my 10 year reunion and had a blast. A lot of my friends had become doctors, lawyers, graduates of the Naval or Air Force Academies or West Point. I almost had the youngest child, but my friend's daughter was one week younger than my son.

It was so much fun to see the ones who were popular in high school not doing well and those of us who didn't have much in the way of popularity having good jobs, nice families, and doing pretty good.

Didn't go to my 10 year. My twenty years is coming up this summer. Not sure if I am going to go. I didn't like them in high school. My girlfriend from home is trying to talk me into coming up to it. Not sure yet.

Hi Jill, Faith says you're one of her favorite people here on Gather so I'm making it a point to come by your stuff and send you 10's and comments.

No, I have no desire. I'd like to be a fly on the wall and see what some people are doing with their lives, etc. But, I don't want to actually meet any of them.

My husband goes to his....sometimes I go too. I hate them. Everyone's just comparing achievements.

My thirtieth is coming up..in fact I was sent an invitation to go, but, I think that I will decline..it will be in California..and I live three thousand miles away..and I don't think that I really want to go back just for that one night! LOL!
I went to my other ones..I went to the ten year and the twentieth reunion..(which honestly feels like yesterday to me! LOL!)
That one was a bit better...but, still the people that I went to school with still have that same mentality..which is too bad! (a lot of them are really lame..they have these snotty attitudes..and even some of my former friends have drastically changed..and I do not think that I want to know them at this point in my life..maybe later! (isn't that sad?!) I had one friend who acted VERY snooty towards me, and acted as though having money was the BEST thing there was ...and acted as though I were NOTHING! I hate that feeling, personally! It's quite rude!!
But, I might write about more of these feelings...just to share! LOL!

I'm with you on that Jill. I didn't want to spend my days with them in high school, why would I want to spend a sad, cheesy evening with them now? Most of them I wouldn't recognize if I saw them. Some I would punch in the face if I did recognize them. And a few of them I don't want to know where I live or even that I'm still in town because they're criminals.

I haven't been to one yet. I have been told it is still very cliquish...I still live in the same town I grew up in though so I see alot of people I graduated with....makes my kids crazy that half of their teachers know me personally and call me by my first name.
