I think around 7 years old. I remember first getting BO at around that age.

Seven is pretty early to be manifesting signs of puberty. Usually, girls start showing signs of puberty (body odor, the beginnings of some body hair, breast buds) at 9 or 10. High body fat is a factor in early puberty, which can begin as early as seven. Other possiblities are if you went through early puberty or a disorder of the hypothalmus. You might want to have a visit with her doctor for a blood test to make sure she's not releasing excessive amounts of hormones, which could indicate more serious problems.

lol great answers ladies.. I wish she had some high body fat "De" she is as skinny as a toothpick! She does play sports.. rides horses.. very outgoing and plays hard! I will switch her deoderant she is using that oh i dunno some fruity stuff I hated for myself.. lol I will make continue monitering and see if it is from her sports! Thanks!

lol well My mother is a nurse for a doctor.. hes a pediatrician and does adults.. very good doctor he will be home July 2.. he has been in iraq.. I will wait and let him see her.. it will not cost anything.. I have insurance on her even if it did

I am the Spa Director at a skin care spa. It may not be zits. It may be sweat bumps or heat rash or an alergic reaction to something new she is using or eating. Get her a good mild face wash by dermalogica. Make it a big deal that she is getting "big girl" stuff to take care of her skin. Take her in for a mini facial, side by side to make it an extra special day! We do that at spaViolet often. Never too early for that!

The BO...my daughter is 13 and didn't really start getting that until around 11 so no advice there.

The bumps on the forehead may not be acne, they may just be caused by perspiration. Make sure she washes her face before bed and make sure she washes her hair often. The other thing that may help is changing bed linens often to prevent those breakouts.
As for the perspiration, Tina is right about those fancy smelling teen spirit deodorant sticks. They don't work. You might want to experiment with dry deodorants vs. spray deodorants and see what works. Some people have to use both; especially if they're real active.
Hope some of this works, it did for me.

I've read some articles that indicate that all these growth hormones and junk in food may be causing children to hit puberty earlier. For your daughter, I'd recommend a more herbal based deodorant. I use one that is all mineral salts, and it works wonderfully, and has no chemicals. For her skin, have you changed soaps recently? Might be a reaction to different soap, or maybe she's not cleaning/rinsing thoroughly enough. My son gets little breakouts like that, and we found it was because he didn't want to scrub that close to his eyes.

Seven is really early. If she was like 11 I could see. Usually it is around the 5th grade. however, do as you feel. Sometimes powders with corn starch are good too at this age. Also for the forehead sometimes when you play hard and sweat alot that happens. I agree going to a dr at this point would be a waste of your time and money. Try some of these things first.

My kids are almost 2 and 3--sometimes they have BO also, I think it's just from playing outdoors so much (that's really the only time they smell). Anyone who sweats will have some odor.

If she likes the friuty smelling deo., I use Dove's cool essentials (cucumber/green tea scent). It smells good and works great!

Also, it could possible be pimples-(someone else mentioned this) but when I was younger, my mom switched shampoos and when I used the new one, I got some bumps just below my hair line that looked like pimples, but was because of the new shampoo.

Hey I never thought of the shampoo. I had bought a pack of 3 from sams just normal childres suave but maybe I need to go for a big girl shampoo now! She is very active and I do notice when she has been plaing is when she really starts smelling bad! She is enjoying wearing deoderant so as far as her matureing to early I do not beleive thats the case here! Also I think the pimples are from her sweating! Thank again everyone!
