My husband's place of employment had an open house on Saturday. Our youngest daughter & her husband came home to go with us. We had a great time. They had hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, salads, chips and the other traditional picnic foods. They had buses to take us on tours of the surface mine. We all had a great time. Have you ever toured a working surface coal mine?

YOUR CHANCE TO WIN "JEWISH HOLIDAYS COOKBOOK"
Jill B. has submitted a post titled: Best Wishes for a Sweet Year. Win a Copy of "Jewish Holidays Cookbook". Rosh Hashanah is the first of the high holidays on the Jewish calendar. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. It celebrates the anniversary of God creating the world, and looks ahead to making the new year better. This is a time of celebration and reflection.
Along with any good celebration comes good food! Naturally sweet foods like honey, apples, raisins and carrots are served at Rosh Hashanah, as reminders of the sweet year that lies ahead. One of the many food traditions followed at Rosh Hashanah is eating apples dipped in honey, and saying a prayer asking God for a wonderful year.
I love the combination of apples and honey, and began to think of many ways to get that flavor combination as possible. Eating these foods all year long can be a way to remember that each day is full of possibility.
Try...
- Apple flavored cereal mixed with honey flavored cereal
- Apple pie with honey ice cream
- Toast and apple butter with honey
- Baked apple with honey whipped cream
- Sauteed apples with honey baked chicken
- Apple juice with honey graham crackers
- Apple slices and honey yogurt dip
- Salad greens with chopped apples and honey vinaigrette
- Apple chips mixed with honey granola
What combinations can you come up with? Leave your comments on Jill's post by October 7th. One respondent will be selected to receive a copy of Jewish Holidays Cookbook. Just click here to add your comment.
Respond by October 11th

Write a Product Review and Get a Gather Grab Bag!
Do you have a favorite product or brand that you want to tell everyone about? We all have our favorite items that are "must-haves." Or maybe you've recently tried a new product that you like even better. Either way, with the holidays coming and all the prep work that goes into them, I'm sure we could all benefit from hearing about your favorite products. Therefore, we'd like to encourage you to write a product review and share it with the Buzz Group.
We're giving away five Gather Grab Bags to members who post reviews of their favorite product between today and Wednesday, October 8th. Make sure to tag your review with "gathergrab" and publish it to the Buzz Group. Then if you feel like it, you can write a review of your Gather Grab!
I hope everyone enjoys reading the reviews and possibly discovers a new product they'd like to try! Remember to join the Buzz Group for all product reviews on Gather. It's there to either share or write reviews and learn about new products. READ MORE HERE.
