There's a problem with the feeds today. Lots of missing content from my connections.
I second you on that, I think that there's a problem too. Our engineers are looking into why some events appear to be missing from the feeds. I will update this article when we learn more.
What's up with that?
As some of you have noticed we have had problems with the Friend Feed since about 10:30 am ET today. Over the next 10 minutes we will be doing a "rolling" fix which means you may get logged out of Gather, but you can log right back in.

Your Friend Feed may be missing items from the time period of 10:30 am – 2:15 pm ET today. Unfortunately, in order to fix this feed moving forward, we are not able to repopulate your Friend Feed with any missing items. I apologize for this inconvenience!!
Group Feeds, Topic Feeds and Profile Feeds are functioning properly.
Sorry you were bumped off Gather repeatedly. The same thing happened to me between 2:05-2:19. We had to patch the Friend Feed, which was not functioning properly. When we have to deploy a patch each of the servers comes offline and then back online with the fix in place.
When you logged back on, you just so happened to log into a server that was not updated yet, so your connection was lost again as that server was pulled offline for the momentary fix.
I apologize that we needed to do this during a busy time of day, but the maintenance is now complete and you should not be logged off again.

Do I just have to search all over Gather to find potential members? Any suggestions to speed up the process?
Usually when you that "Error: Something went wrong" message after clicking "send" on a private message, that message did actually go through.
Also, are you aware that the "CAPTCHA" word verification image is not supposed to be present when you compose a message from scratch? It will appear if you visit a member's profile and click "send mail." It will not appear if you click the "Mail" tab and then "write."
Well, using the "Invite my friends" option is one way to speed up the process. On this page, you have all of your current friends on Gather laid out for you, with no searching necessary. Other than that, I'm afraid you'll need to use the "Invite Gather members" option. I would recommend keeping two tabs open in your browser - one for the "Invite Gather members" page, and one for looking around the site for new people to invite. It's helpful to search for people by interest, or by the member lists within other groups.
