Linda
For some reason I am getting over 20 emails a day from you, Can we please figure out how we can stop this, deny me or something I am over loaded with your emails?. ...more
Arlena S., May 15, 2008, 09:03 AM EDT
Can you explain?
Hope you get that resolved soon.
I am the member recieving these mass Comments from Linda G. Every time she comments on an article or an image I get it.She is not on my friend list and I am not on hers but as of now I have over 106 Comments from Linda G in my deleted folder Please help Us I am only wanting to solve this.
I've found the problem. There is currently a glitch on Gather (that will be fixed soon!), where if Member A sends a friend request to Member B, Member A will begin receiving notifications on Member B right away, before Member B actually accepts the friend request. Since the two members are not yet technically "friends" on Gather, Member A is offered no options to control email notifications regarding Member B.
Arlena, you are receiving email notifications regarding Linda, according to the options you selected when you originally sent her a friend request.
Linda, you should check your pending friend requests, and accept or reject Arlena's request. That is what is preventing Arlena from controlling the emails she is receiving about you.
The second paragraph below should help you to access the rewards...
If you cannot locate this link on the My Gather page, try refreshing or reloading the page using the refresh/reload button on your browser, or the F5 key on your keyboard, or through the Ctrl+R (on Windows) or CMD+R (on Mac) key combination.
If your earnings page won't display, or another page comes up instead, click the "sign out" link in the upper right corner of the page, and then sign in again. This might clear up the problem for you.
You may also attempt to enter the web address directly into your browser's address bar. The web address for the earnings page is https://earnings.gather.com
If you are still unable to access your earnings, please send an email to Gather Member Support at support@gather.com, and be certain to provide your Gather username (xxxxxx.gather.com) in the message.

I'm not liking this . . . is this for everyone or just the special case above? If it is everyone does that mean the person who keeps requesting me harassingly, has an easier way to keep track of me? (still waiting on that email from you guys too)
Should I deny the request that is in limbo (he'll just send it back by the end of the day) or have you guys had a chance to 'look' at it (if you know what I mean)
I can't comment on your harassment issue that you emailed to us, but Carolyn should be posting a comment addressing that soon.
About the glitch, I am not certain how widespread it is. A few other members had reported to us the same effect that Linda did. I reported it to our QA team, and it is scheduled to be fixed - for all affected parties - on May 20.
We've addressed your harassment issue. I've sent you an e-mail message with all the particulars. Please feel free to e-mail me back with any further questions or concerns you may have.
The actions we may take in respect to an article due to Terms of Service violations are between those of Gather and an individual member, Therefore, this is considered a private issue that I cannot share details about in this forum.
As per my previous comment, please e-mail us examples of some the articles you're concerned about, as we'd be glad to review them, accordingly. Please e-mail them to support@gather.com
Please allow me to clarify. When I state "please e-mail us examples of some the articles you're concerned about, as we'd be glad to review them, accordingly. Please e-mail them to support@gather.com" I am looking for examples of articles that you yourself have written or intend to write.
Upon re-reading my comment I can see that I did not make that point clearer, sorry about that. Again, I encourage you to e-mail us your article examples so that we can help you sort this all out.
