Are you experiencing some problem with your My Gather page? Could you provide details please?
The majority of things that end up in my feed are things like who commented who, who's friends with who, who pinged who and other pointless details I am uninterested in (and yes, I do have my friends sorted, must against my own desires, but that was supposed to make it more managable. . . it isn't. )
Any chance that the "Photo's for me" "Articles for me" and "Videos for me" tabs will come back in some way shape or form? This would make people who care about content very happy. I (and many others used those tabs to navigate the site and catch up with our connections if we did not log on one day, via the little time frame box we could use)
I don't know of any plans to bring those pages back, currently. But you never know - in the past, features have gone away and then were reintroduced later. I can tell you that in the future, we plan to make adjustments to the way the My Gather page feeds work, so that you can see only those event types that matter to you. That way you could avoid the things you find irrelevant. I don't have an ETA on that yet, though.
I'll keep my fingers crossed heh
The questions regarding spam articles were addressed in yesterday's help article. Specifically, my comments were:
"You are welcome to publish articles or images that may include self-promotional info or links, so that others may read and comment on them (like a book review, or an article about your contest entry, for example). However, you may not publish content for the sole purpose of promoting a business venture or sales opportunity."
Examples like the articles you cited yesterday are addressed on a case by case basis.
