What Is Happening Today On Gather - Friday - May 9, 2008

Today is my Granddaughter's fifth birthday. I can remember when she was born. It does not seem like it was five years ago.  She had grown up so fast and is such a sweet little girl. She is kind and mannerly. I am very proud of her. Victoria has done a wonderful job raising our Grandchildren. Happy Birthday Haley.

I am so glad that it is Friday. I am ready for some down time. :) Hope you have a wonderful weekend and I will see you again on Monday. I hope I did not miss anything. I had a lot of stuff for you today. Someone ask me to spotlight their new group but I have lost my list with the name on it. Steve Winwood Rocks!

I am so enjoying my Steve Winwood CD!  I love to listen to him sing. You are very fortunate as a Gather Member to be able to listen to his CD in the community. You can listen to each of the songs on his CD here.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT

 I remember when our daughters were small, they loved to help in the kitchen. I am so proud of my oldest daughter for teaching her children the same skills that she was taught. They love cooking in the kitchen. Annabel K.  has published an article titled "Kids in the Kitchen - Receive a Copy of "The Toddler Cook Book"

Summer Is On The Way!

The next feature book of the Getting Better All the Time group, Summer Blowout is a hilarious and rambunctious story about a recently single woman who finds herself on a new path and hits all of the bumps life throws her along the way. This sounds like a wonderful book for me to read on the front porch swing.

Who Won The Baby Shower Contest?

"Honor a Soldier" Contest

Memorial Day is May 26 th. How do you celebrate Memorial Day? The Veterans Group is having a contest. Speedy - Support Veterans has written an article giving you all the details.

It's easy to participate in the "Honor a Soldier" Contest. First, join the Support Veterans group at veterans.gather.com. Whether a poem, essay, or testimonial is your style, express yourself and show our heroes how deeply appreciated they are. The Gather community will vote to determine the 10 most touching tributes. These 10 will be posted to the Paralyzed Veterans of America's website at www.pva.org\remembrance. From there, the Gather Editorial Team will choose a Grand Prize Winner, who'll receive a $100 American Express Gift Card to be used as a charitable donation, or any other way the winner chooses.
