I published an article two days ago and restricted viewing rights to a friend set containing only 8 friends. I verified that this article is only visible within the community, and only to these 8 other members. However, the view count is now well over 30 (and today it is over 45). This happens continually to me and others when content is restricted to specific friends or group members.
Since the view count should never exceed the number of members authorized to view that content, do you have any idea what can be causing this?
This is important as members are concerned that privacy controls in the community are not working as intended.
Thank You!
Doesn't it make sense to allow a certain number of comments then have a fresh page load to continue the discussion on???
Sooner or later people who might have something to contribute to the discussion are going to just give up...
Kevin, I would wonder if the "counters" increase every time one of your allowed people come back to read or make new comments ... that could add up fast ... ?
As for Robins question to support, I would think that would be a great idea on the surface know little about such workings ... other than the fact I am one of those (as Chuck is aware) that have such problems often ... though at the moment my problem as temporarily self healed as it sometimes does seldom lasting long.
Comment pagination is something that we plan to introduce, but it has not yet been scheduled due to other development priorities. I'm sorry I don't have any more specifics to give. I agree that it will make for a better experience when we implement this. It would help when certain members (like Jerry, incidentally) experience extremely long load times for huge comment threads.
Being still out of ideas, my fingers are perpetually crossed for you. Makes it hard to type, but whatever.
As for the formating problems when you paste a comment into an article, you might be able to avoid this by pasting the comment first into a Notepad file, making textual adjustments in Notepad as you see fit, and then copying and pasting what's in the Notepad into your article. This might get rid of any weird formatting problems you see when you go straight from comment to article.
