Are you trying to spotlight content that is in your profile feed? That's the trick. If the content is not showing up in your profile feed, you need to republish it, it will then be in your feed, and you click on the "spotlight" link next to the content title in your feed.

Are you referring to the "Marilyn's Feed" on your profile page, or on the friend feed on your "My Gather" page?
Please check all four of your feeds - your friend feed, your group feed, your "feed me," and the "Marilyn's Feed" on your profile. Will none of them update when you select "articles" or any other option?
If you are having trouble redeeming points, please read.
On your My Gather page click on your "gather points" link. You should be brought to an Earnings page automatically. If you are not reaching the earnings page via the link, please try going directly to https://earnings.gather.com. Please notice the https, since this is a secure site.
Go through the redemption process. If you are brought to a Sign In page without the Sign In box, click on the "sign out" link in the upper right corner of the page and sign in again. This sign out/ sign in process is resolving the problem for most members.
If you are having any continued difficulty please let us know so we can work through the problem with you individually.
Are you referring to ping events that appear in your feed, or do you want to turn off the actual pings that you receive from other members?
Have you tried to see if you have this problem on other browsers?
The purpose of pings is a way to give someone a public "shout-out" right on that person's profile. I'm afraid that there's no way for you to accept pings from other members but have them only available to you. By clicking "change settings" at the top of your profile's ping thread, you should choose to moderate your pings, so that they require your approval before they are made public.
Or, you could disable pings altogether, and other members could rely on private messaging to contact you.

It is too small and there is too much there for me to see it all. So your articles are welcome. I have been looking at stuff from the Gather home page because that I can see, and finding my friends from emails.

Regarding your concern with your friend feed... Currently it is not possible to view multiple activity types without viewing all of them. I will be pushing to allow further customization of this feature in the future (which would also allow the removal of certain event types from the feed – like pings, comments, etc). I'm with you on this one too. I think we've laid the groundwork for some great new features, but there are some obvious changes that should be made to improve the experience for everyone.
Thanks for asking how it's going. It's definitely challenging for us as it is for many members. From the Support Team perspective, we always strive to answer questions in a timely manner and we are a bit behind right now. Chuck and Carolyn are fabulous to share the workload with. We really enjoy working together and working with members; so we're busy, but doing fine!
I had almost given up.
I really do like Gather, BuzzAgent brought me here, I brought family and friends, and have made firends here. I like read articles, looking at images, I also like posting articles and images. Having to see all that other stuff is of no intrest, I look forward to the chance to turn off the pings, comments & who connected to who.

how do I get this to reflect content more in line with my email preferences. In other words what I want is only people shown there in my network of a bit over 500 people who have
a. posted an article or picture they want me to comment on.
b. have commented on an article or picture I have posted.
My plate is full taking care of this and to everyone justice it takes up wards of 6 to 10 hours a day. They deserve more than one word or a thanks for sharing if you get my drift. They put a lot into comments on what I publish and I owe them that courtesy back. OK? Any questions I will be here for a bit or as you post more will return to the date of this post. Hang in all you in Bean Town its chilly today in Florida. only a high of 64 today. God we are spoiled here but the summers are brutal. Youre like falible and we know it and understand someimes the best laid plans dont come out the way we planned. But you do have us to help you work it though. My chunk of Gather is a bit more than500 people but to the last one they are special as are all of you. I am sure My Space or Facebook doesnt care as much about their people as our people in Boston do.

Cool, so I loaded it and went into Gather from my email to comment on posts because people commented on mine. Gather doesn't know it's me. It asks me to login. No problem. Yes problem. Once I get into any post and press any key it takes me out to the registration page. I tried to reregister but it knows me. Not sure what to do right now. Somehow this time I came in under IE but it is soooo slow.
