I see you made it through another Monday. That is always a good sign. Is it just me or is Monday the hardest day of the week to get through? Many people are off all week this week for Spring Break. Are you one of the lucky ones? We are not either! It is work as usual for us.
I am curious as to how many of you do the daily polls on the Gather homepage. I do them on a regular basis. I enjoy seeing how others feel about the issues as compared to my thinking. The poll that is up now is:
The U.S. death toll in Iraq has reached 4,000. Do you think America should stay the course or get out of Iraq as soon as possible?
Stay the course
Get out now
Neither of the above
At 2:30 PM on Monday, the results were: 21% voted to stay the course, 52% voted to Get out now and 27% voted for Neither of the above.
Did you vote? Is your opinion counted in those results?
Do you have concerns and/or questions concerning the treatment of terror suspects?
Julia Schrenkler, Interactive Producer, MPR/APM is one busy gal. She always has something interesting to tell us, here on Gather. Today, March 25, 2008 @ 11:00 AM Eastern Time, MPR will be chatting with Admiral Hutson. Following that chat, The Admiral will be taking questions right here, on Gather. It seems that the Admiral is a very interesting and outspoken man. Rear Admiral John D. Hutson, is a retired Navy Judge advocate General. He is currently serving as the President and Dean of Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire.
He is a Navy Admiral and is going to be speaking out against policies on the interrogation and treatment of terror suspects. This is a wonderful opportunity to find out the facts that are not sugar- coated. You can post your questions in advance at this link.
Don't forget that you can listen to the mid-morning show on your computer. This way you will not miss a thing.
I went to the Minnesota Public Radio site (MPR) and did some exploring. I was impressed with the information that I found there. I really think you will be too. If you want to explore it yourself, here is the link.
With all the recalls of toys over the last year, it is increasingly important to know what to look for to keep our children safe. Vicky McEvoy, M.D., Harvard Medical School has published an article titled "How To Choose The Best, Safest Toys" This is a well written article and I think each of us will find it beneficial when it comes to keeping our children safe in this unpredictable society that we now live in.
First Tracks: Who Made It To Round 2?
The voting for round two began on Monday March 24. Congratulations to all those who won in this round. Kristen Capodilupo has published an article with all the links to keep you "in the know." Remember, you can vote for your favorite once daily. Each day that you voice your opinion by voting, you will be entered into a sweepstakes to win a CD prize pack from Universal Music. Your vote will count and it could help you win as as well. Round 2 will end on March 31.

Also the chat about the treatment of terror suspects sounds like a good place. I have recently watched a movie - Renditions about the exact thing.
