Wow! We sure have a lot of things happening in the Gather community this week. So grab a soda and get comfy as we catch up on all the happenings in YOUR Gather Community. I hope YOU have been following all the updates and changes. There are just so many wonderful things happening! It is so easy to get excited about them. There are going to be a lot of live chats going on today, YOU wont want to miss any of them.
Have YOU had a chance to check out all new updates on the site? Do YOU like them or hate them? All of the changes and updates are performed with YOU in mind. I love the new way to publish to groups. It not only lists the groups but a short overview of the group. This should eliminate the confusion of what the qualifications are for each group. Simply click on "Who can view this article" at the bottom of the article and all your groups will appear. I love this new upgrade.
1. Gather introduced a new feature a few weeks ago, on the articles pages. This feature displays "related articles" and "more articles" by the content author. Gather wants to know what YOU think of these changes. Jim Bostick, Gather Director of User Experience has published an article on this back in January. YOU can share your views on these changes at his article.
2. Let's face it, Politics is everywhere these days. Turn on the TV, radio or just go to the Doctor's office and you will most likely hear about the candidates, economy, environment and the election of 2008. Politics is even on Gather. Have you been following the Politics Editor? Is politics stressing you out these days? Are you concerned about the economy, Environment or the War? The Politics Editor wants YOUR views. You can win a pretty cool stress ball just for YOUR opinions. Check out "Election '08: What's Stressing You Out?" I just love the stress balls. I want one really bad. :)
3. Have you heard about the live chat today March 6th at 12:00 Eastern Time? It is going to be an exciting chat with Father and Son Authors.
David Sheff is the author of "Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction.

Nick Sheff is David's son and the author of the young adult book, "Tweak: Growing up on Methamphetamines."
This should prove to be a great chat for all parents of teens as well as families dealing with addiction on any level. If you can't join the chat, you can post YOUR questions in the comment area of the article.
4. Do YOU want to cook healthy with YOUR kids but not quite sure how to go about it? Have you joined the Parenting Group yet? Jessie Voigts will be hosting a live chat today, March 6th at 4 PM Eastern Time, with Chef Jill at the Parenting Group. She will be discussing with YOU, cooking healthy & organically with YOUR kids. This chat is different than most live chats, YOUR children are encouraged to join in and ask questions. If YOU can't make it to the live chat, just post YOUR questions in the comment area of the article.
5. Have YOU been to the sisterhood group lately? If you have not, YOU are missing out on tons of wonderful sharing. This is an amazing group and just keeps getting better! Have YOU had a chance to read the book "The Last Beach Bungalow," by Jennie Nash? I really wanted to read this book but have not been able to do so yet. Mary M has published a wonderful review of this book.
Jennie is a breast cancer survivor and author of three books. Renda ~ With my comment, you get a 10, will be hosting a live chat with Jennie Nash today, March 6th at 7 PM Eastern Time. If you will not be able to make it to the chat, YOU can post your questions and comments on Renda's article.
6. March 3, 2008 was a wonderful & exciting day for three of our Gather Members (five if you count Victoria's kids), Marianne, Victoria and Phillis met in South Carolina for an adventure in geocaching. This was the first time these Gather Connections had ever met each other.
Victoria published "Our First Geocaching Experience: Photo Essay"
Phillis published "A Dream Come True - Meeting Gather Friends!!!"
Marianne published "Hanging With The Gals From Gather (Photo Essay)"
Victoria published "Gather Life Meets Real Life or Meeting My Gather Connections!"
There have been several Gather members meeting each other in the "real world". Have YOU ever met a Gather member in the "real world?"
7. Do YOU check out the Gather Homepage each day? Was YOU aware that there is a poll on the homepage each day? I enjoy checking it often to see the results and how they change throughout the day. Do YOU answer the poll questions?
Did YOU miss yesterdays "Today On Gather" article? YOU can still read it here.
What would YOU like to see in the Today Articles?
REMEMBER: The Gather Community is all about YOU!

Those stress balls rock!

Mary,
You are welcome. That was a wonderful review you wrote on "The Last Beach Bungalow"
Brad,
I am glad you found it useful.
I am glad that you gals were able to meet in South Carolina. You each did some wonderful articles on the meeting. :)
I hope you will continue to check out the gather homepage. You will find it very interesting. I love the polls myself
New Job. I am quite excited. I am glad you found the information useful
If they did hire you in some way, they made a wise choice...
Thanks. I hope you can use the information.
Matt,
I am so glad Leslie is doing better.
I am glad you found the updates to your liking.
David,
LOL
I love being able to see the group types when I post. I doubt I bother too much with the friend categories.
thanks for promoting our live chat with chef jill. lillie's *very* excited!
I am really liking Guthrie so far! Have you noticed the list of your groups now when posting your articles? Every group come up with a paragraph letting us know a bit about what the group is about! I think that's really cool. I have also been sorting my friends out in groups last night, great fun! :)
One other note, I think it would be a good idea if you start adding a tagline at the bottom of your article with links to helpful places. For example, Gather now has an official help article that is posted everyday by Team Gather. A link to the Gather Member Support namespace would be really handy! :)
The poll on the main page sometimes stays the same for days and days and there is rarely an appropriate answer to check. I think Gather should get some input from the community for poll topics, some of them are just plain silly.
I like the "more by.." section but not the "related articles..." The related articles are rarely really related and a lot of times they make it look like the author wants to be associated with the related person's articles when in reality they don't.
The short summery of the group is also my favorite part of the upgrades. It is very helpful, isn't it?
I am glad that you have found it helpful. It will be published each weekday. Hope you continue to enjoy it.
I hope you chat goes well. :)
I am glad you have found it useful. You are correct that most of the upgrades involve the publishing process but not all of them.
Krissy,
Is is always good to see your comments. Thanks for stopping by and I do hope the article is of help to you.
Luna,
I was unaware of the new Gather Member support until today.
Carol,
I am so glad you were able to find articles that are of interest to you.
Moggy,
I am sorry that you are annoyed with the YOU in bold. I use it as a way to personalize the article to YOU. Because you are the reason gather is here and so active .
Jax,
There is an article on your namespace from Tom explaining the problem of email updates.
