What's Happening TODAY on Gather! Tuesday, March 4,2008

Today is Tuesday, March 4, 2008. I hope you have had a wonderful day yesterday.  I have some exciting news for you to start the day with.

  1. Have you heard all the buzz concerning the search for America's Best Musician?

We    have our own "Gather Reality Show" of sorts. How exciting is that? 

First - Simply go to the First Tracks Group page and join the group.

Second -  Listen to the first tracks and vote for who you think is best.  The voting began on March 3 and ends on March 17.

Third - Return to the group each day and vote. The top 100 with the most votes will move onto round two.  Each time you vote, YOU will be entered into a sweepstakes to win CD prize packs.  This is YOUR opportunity to have your say on who will win this competition. So use YOUR privilege as a Gather member and make a difference in America's Best Musician.

2.  Martin Fletcher is  the Mid-East Bureau Chief/Correspondent for NBC News. Martin has published "Breaking News," a personal account of his 35+ years as a news correspondent.

This is going to be a multi-platform experience - Read The book, See the TV reports on the internet, discuss the stories & ideas with each other & with the author her on Gather.com.

The goal is to use the book as a starting point for an exchange of ideas that it is  hoped will bring Rwanda, Somalia, Gaza, Sarajevo, Afghanistan and many other places closer to home & contribute to our understanding of the world's people  & their problems.

So are you up for the challenge to learn more?  Simply join the group & begin chatting away.  There are already overviews of the first three chapters published for YOU  to read.

3.  Are you as excited about the arrival of Guthrie as I am? Well, I have an exciting update for YOU.  Guthrie is set to arrive on Tuesday night. Stay alert  an announcement from CEO Tom Gerace.

4.  Do YOU have kids? Would you like to win a free book for them?
