What’s Happening TODAY on Gather! Tuesday, September 25, 2007
We have a chance for you to catch up with a First Chapters Finalist, a video contest, and two members from other sides of the world who collaborated because of their love for poetry.
LIVE CHAT WITH A FIRST CHAPTERS' WINNER
Today from 5-6 p.m.ET is your chance to ask First Chapters Finalist Geoffrey Edwards about what it was like to compete in the First Chapters competition and how his experience as a published author has been thus far. Geoffrey wrote “Fire Bell In The Night,” a novel about circumstances stemming from incidents that happened in Charleston, S.C. circa summer 1850. I read the book in almost one sitting and it is a page turner, let me tell you.
GATHER MEMBERS COLLABORATE ACROSS THE SITE AND THE WORLD
I always love it when I see members collaborate. The latest? Minnie W. from India and Kathryn Esplin Oleski from Boston, MA have teamed up in a unique collaboration to create two poems about autumn: Autumn Has Tip Toed In. Check out how these seasons are seen from two different member’s perspectives. Maybe it will inspire you to seek a Gather member in your network or on the site to team up with and create something the whole community can appreciate.
GATHER GUIDES HOST A VIDEO CONTEST
The Gather Guides are “celebrating our love for Gather and the release of video by sponsoring a contest, and YOU get the prizes!”
Six prizes total will be awarded with a combined value of over $200.00! All you need to do is grab your video camera and create a video that shows the Gather “g” in a creative and unique way. Or another way you can win is to comment on a video entered in the competition. All community members are eligible. Check out the details at Announcing the “Gather makes it mark on your world” video contest.
Have fun! I can’t wait to see what this creative community comes up with!

Plus, good luck to the remaining 25 in the First Chapters contest!
I've been reading alot of comments
anticipating that contest.
I look forward to seeing more of these from other members and hope to do more of these from time to time, myself.
