Today was one of those days when I should have just stayed in bed. Ever have a day like that when many things go wrong? Our house is being remodeled and there is stuff piled everywhere in the house. A person can barely walk through the house or even find a place to sit. The only room that looks great is Tracy's room that was just remodeled and redecorated. The rest of the house is a mess. (The guest room is getting redone next). So, Larry and I were going to go to the dog park in Frankenmuth today to get away from the mess for awhile. We were ready to leave and waiting for Tracy to get home from church. We waited and waited, and she was 2 hours late! I tried to call the church but just got an answering machine. So, we drove to the church to look for her. She wasn't in the main building so Larry was going to look back in the woods where a church member was having a birthday party.
Instead of walking the 100 yards or so back to the pavillion, Larry took the car. The path is full of holes and tree trunks. Larry, going too fast for conditions, ran over a huge tree trunk with my brand new 2009 minivan! I heard scraping and grinding and awful noises and then the car was stuck on the stump. It wouldn't go forward (and that would have torn up my car), and it wouldn't go backward, as it just kept spinning its wheels in the dirt. I was VERY upset and mad too! A man with a tow rope and a truck towed us backwards off the stump, to the tune of more loud scraping and grinding noises. Since I can't see under the car, I can't see if any damage was done to my car. Larry says the car is okay. He'd better be right!
On top of that, I took my car to the dealership on Friday to have the oil changed, tires rotated and balanced, and some manufacturing defects fixed. The service guy didn't reset the thing on the dash that says the oil needs changed, so it still tells us we need an oil change when the car has already had one. The passenger side front floor of the car was getting wet each time we drove the car to the point that the other day I lifted the floor mat and water poured off it and the carpet in the car was soaked and water stained. This car just turned 4 months old! The service guy said he fixed the problem. He said the factory had forgotten to seal a seam under my car that keeps water out of the car. He said I should have no more trouble. When I went to get into the car today, the same area of the floor and carpet was soaked, and I picked up the mat and it was all wet again! GRRRR. So, I have to call the service guy tomorrow and tell him his "fix" didn't help.
We finally found Tracy and headed for the dog park and it started to rain when we got almost there. (Its about a 40 minute drive to the park.) Luckily, after a short time it quit raining and the dogs got about an hour of play at the park before it rained again. At first only my dogs Amy and Spirit were at the park, so I worked on some obedience training with them. Spirit is soooo good. When I call her, even if she is a football field away, she comes running so fast that her little porker belly literally rolls as she runs. She gets to me and sits in front of me and waits for her praise and treat. Amy is like a cat when I call her, she'll take a message and get back with me. She eventually comes but she's in no hurry. Then a man came with a 7 month old Weimaraner that loves to run, so my dogs got a real workout running and playing with Harley. We left and headed for McDonalds just as the rains came again. We got our McDonalds order to the car and checked it and the girl had forgotten to put in Larry's chicken nuggets! So, he had to go back for those.
The highlight of the day was when we got home and found that while we were gone Tony had moved all the furniture out of our guest room and put it into our garage. YEA!!!!! That means he will probably start tearing out drywall and carpet and floor tile in the room tomorrow (I hope)! I can hardly wait until the guest room is done and is as pretty as Tracy's room. We are using the same color paint and the same maple Pergo laminate wood flooring. I plan to buy all new bedding for the guest room bed. And maybe a different and smaller chair for the room. And some new throw rugs. I will be a very happy camper when the whole house is done! I hope tomorrow will be a less frustrating day than today was. I am taking Amy to her obedience class tomorrow and I hope she will do what I tell her to. She has been ahead of the class but this week she has been very stubborn about doing the "sit stay" and the "down stay." We shall see.

At least when remodeling is done it will be what you want.
Really not surprised McD's forgot part of your order. Always check it at window.
we're doing them with only 1 more day to get 'er done .... so far have put in a new drop ceiling in the kitchen ... now hubby's building walls and kid is going along behind him panelling stuff. It is going to look great...but OMG the mess! it better not rain tomorrow - we have SO much garbage to burn before the guy gets here.
And hope tomorrow is better :)
I hope your van is alright...and I'd at least have it looked at, even if that means getting Larry to somehow crawl under it with a flashlight. I'd also plant my tush at the dealer's to get the seam repaired....
Hope next week is better for you.
About your van, I would be going back to the dealer and making sure that they fix everything! Some vehicles have reset buttons that you can hold down for a few minutes and the light will go off, not sure about the new ones like yours. With all the problems, I would check the oil to make sure they actually changed it.
I hope today will be a better day for you.
Was really interesting reading about your day!

I love the antics of Spirit and Amy. Great icon pic, too.
Good luck for a nice remodeled household soonest.
