Wow school will end here in three short days. Then the long standing contest of driving mom crazy will being in earnest. This summer promises to be very wet (from rain not my tears!). I love my daughters more then words can possibly say but do they really need me to prove it every minute of every day? If we are just staying home and doing some thing fun there it is not good enough unless a friend or five can come over as well. I think I have morphed into the neighborhood mom. That one really sneeks up on you. First its just a friend spending the occasional night then soon I am doing that childs laundry and paying her dental bills.
In all fairness I love my children to invite their friends over, a couple times a week, not every day. My childless friend thinks I have lost my mind in chosing to stay at home and raise my children, and at times I have to agree with her. After this summer my youngest will be going to Kindergarten. Strangly the house will then be too quiet, and I very lonesome. Am I crazy or is this the bane of a stay at home parent, the noisy, hectic days and general messiness of children, to the tomb of silence that will follow after the child steps into the school bus? My husband is certain I will lose my mind. God bless him he gives me more credit then I deserve I lost my mind years ago.............

Such a flashback you just gave me. Mine are all grown now ~

=)
So am I mental to know I will miss them when they are all in school? Or is the agony that I am suffering the knowledge that more frinds will be made and drafted to our family?
I think it is the latter. You will find ways to fill the time they are in school, even if it is only to read a book, take a relaxing bath or whatever.
No, not mental at all. Just a loving mother. When our youngest of the three, finally started school. It was so very quiet at home all alone. What a big difference it was.
hee hee I know how that is. we have ours on weekends and we have kids in and out ALL the time......I feed them, drink them etc and our kids never head the other way arggg
Why is that? You would think our children would get sick of us and WANT to go somewhere else!
Have fun, school is out here too. Didn't have any in school though
This is the second week that school has been out here. Granted I only have one left in school, she is 16. She doesn't want to do her chores or help out around the house in any way (usually just emptying the dishwasher, cleaning her bathroom and picking up after herself) but expects me to drop everything and give her and her friends a ride here, there and younder. Seriously, I can't wait for school to start back up, lol.
ah You are the invisible maid/cook/driver. I hated that stage! My step daughters really thought that they were princesses. In their defense I must say that since they have gotten out of their teen years they have really become more thoughtful and less arrogant.
Mine are all grown, and their friends still come over-now with their kids
Even though my 10 year old girl is at a terrible age I still miss her when school starts up and she is back in class again!! So I do know in a way what you are talking about!!
Ahh, children, bringers of chaos!
I remember thoses days.
