question about the photo album feature -

Have you put your photos in albums?

What do you think of that feature?

What does this do to the crediting of points?

I've been wondering and would like to

hear the answers.

I put my photos in albums for maybe a day,

but then got thinking (and wondering) about

if I was going to get credit/points when people

viewed my photos through that slideshow that

you get when someone's photos are in albums.

I took all my photos OUT of the albums.

From what I'm reading at different places,

I don't think we get credit/points when people

view our photos that way.

What do you think about the albums feature?

Have you read about this points issue?

I put all my photos in albums. I have seen my points rising, so I don't know if it affects points in that way or not, but it sure is a good question. I hope someone has an answer!

You get points when ever anyone views your phoitos weather they are in an album or not but they need to open the particular photo. I love the albums, my photos from way back are no getting comments and my points have risen accordingly. With an album it is noooow much easier to look at peoples photos and zero in on thoise that please us, it is also a handy tool to now send to relatives far away and I just adore being able to add 40 pis at once and select groups with one submission instead of 40 submissions Albums are a great time savor.

I don't like it and find it hard to navigate so I am not clicking on albums.

I'm not putting my pictures in albums and I am not viewing them either. Nobody gets credit for the sideshow. But what April said is true. You need to click on the actual photo to get a page view. I think its a big pain.

I like albums so much that I will only be viewing albums from now on and commenting on those. IT is too troublesome to look at individual photos. IT is so much better orgamized. If I want to look at sunsets for instance I just type in sunsets and viola everybodies sunset albums pop up what a pleasure to view exactly what I am in the mood to see.

OK, this is the best way I can describe it. In the albums if you use the "film strip" at the top of the 1st picture and click the 2nd 3rd ect. you are getting points for you and the person who's pictures you are looking at. But if you click slideshow it brings up another application entirely that auto plays the pictures. This is not generating page views and does not give points to the album being viewed or the person viewing it. Just an update to everyone after investingating it myself. not real crazy about it, I found that if you can find you pictures, you can got, think it is something like more picture, click on that, you don't get anying but a quick flash of words, click on the next number of pictures you get a quick flash of words. You can the go back to the last page you were on and your pictures will be there, where they weren't before, confused you didn't I, Sure confuses me..

I have uploaded 2 photos since the change. So far I like the albums. Some older photos are getting additional views and comments. It's fun to see that! I do my points going up about the same rate they did before.

What do you think of that feature? I love the new feature... I feel like it is a really good plan. The only problem I have with it is the limit of 40 photos per album.

What does this do to the crediting of points? I have no idea...

Have you read about this points issue? Not yet... that's why I searched for info on the photo albums. However, even if I don't get the points from it, I'm basically using gather as a photo storage tool (I don't want to lose photos in the event of a computer crash. Because of this, I keep my photos on an external drive, as well as keeping them on multiple websites, so I won't lose them). I'd rather have my photos organized than get a ton of points for them.
