I've been seeing some hint at leaving Gather if the layout remains as it is now.
I'm wondering just how many are considering leaving over it and who is staying despite the fact that they may or may not like it?
(This is to offer up opportunities to others to generate means of retanining connections to others should you leave Gather)
So, who's considering it and who's not?
As for myself, I loathe it, but I will not be going anywhere. I still enjoy the people and content and while it's a lot more hidden than it was it's still here.

I'm just staring at my screen dumbfounded. I can't even think where to start or anything. This is going to drive me buggy... and of course I can't go outside and ignore it because it's miserable out there.
Hmm. Maybe I should work on my painting instead.

To me the heart of Gather looks the same... it just some really bad plastic surgery done, and um, well hopefully it's repairable... either that or I guess I'll get use to it.
I'm sure we will get used to it, but I really hate that our content is hidden.
Vickey I heard they had beta testers. Laura and Austin were among them and Laura was saying how great the layout was. I just don't see it.. *sigh*
Watch I'll have to make up fake friend groups just to be less overwhelmed.
Jessie I am seeing more content in some ways, but less in others, if that makes any sense.
I wouldn't think of leaving now. The site is growing and bettering itself for us.
Why should I abandoned ship now. I have faith the glitches will be worked out.

this is where I come to write my feelings down....so i'm staying
I said last night that this was a downgrade rather than an upgrade.
1) View counts
2) Spotlighting -- if they fix a couple of things -- letting us spotlight older material and making it easier to spotlight. I say the "spotlight" button also needs to be next to the publish button.
I like the spotlighting and the view counts too Linda, but I don't understand how a photo with 5 views has 22 comments. Wonder what defines a page view.
And I too don't understand how an image can have 30 comments by 30 different people and only 10 views. ;) It's a mystery!
I don't want to have to do this when I come to gather, click..click....click....click...click..click ...oh yes there are the articles I want to read.
All I am seeing is pings, who pinged who, who pinged who back...OMG
But it looks like the changes are here to stay
Content is getting lost in the shuffle already.
The changes are not that hard..how is people losing content??
It goes down the list just like before except you have a list of like 20 instead of 5..
Whats sucks is you have to change that box each time
I have so much stuff backed up now it would take me a couple of years to clean it all up if I wanted to leave. It is just . . . okay ~ I'm humming now, like Gideon on his Art Videos.
