Last month, my sons and I went with my childhood friend to Jungle Island in Miami. The Jungle Island is only a 15 minute drive from us, and we were all amazed to find ourselves in the middle of a tropical jungle, with a glimpse of a skyscraber once in a while.
Looks like a wonderful place to visit. The pictures are refreshing and I can not wait for the cold weather to be over with. Thanks for taking me on this excursion.
Hi Jr. Funny, when I was just recently in Miami, I saw the signs for Jungle Island. I think it may have been named something else in the past and I was there many years ago. Then again, maybe I'm mistaken.
At any rate, the photos are beautiful! I especially like the one with the fern and hte water. Do you count yourself lucky to live where you do?

Bobbi you are right, Jungle Island used to be called Parrot Island I think. I believe they changed their name in 2007.
You know I do consider myself lucky to be down here in the warmth, but every place has its pros and cons. It is great to be so close to the beach, but there are a lot of crime down here, and I would like to bring my boys up somewhere where I don't feel like I have to watch them every second of the day (if such a place exists).
I just love your photo essays...particularly when it is still so cold here. I'm a Florida girl in heart and spirit, so your pictures are always such a treat for me. Thank you!
