I think if there is a tip jar it is up to you, but I usually don't ;o) Now if it is the pizza guy defiantly tip the driver! My husband drives pizza & it is nice to tip at least $3 ;o)

I don't tip orders like that, only delivery orders like the pizza guy...but when I carry it out myself, why tip? I'm the one carrying it out!

Thanks.... that's what I thought. But sometimes the cashier looked at us weird like he/she thought we were supposed to tip and we were cheap if we didn't.....

Yeah I hate when the credit card receipt has tip....on it. I always put a 0 with a line through it...so no one can write a tip on it...All places have that now. ;o) My husband was saying that if you come in to get your pizza & pay by credit card...it will have a tip thing on it and he says that when people put a tip on it it isn't for the person taking that order, but for the cooks that made it. Not sure why, but that is how Domino's does it.

If it's not delivered and I get service throughout the meal, I don't bother tipping. I never got tips when I did Denny's carry out orders.

I would never tip an order I carry out. I sometimes tip things delivered to me such as pizza, but I also have had several situations where the driver got unreasonably lost and late to a very obvious address and never even cared to call to try to get direction help and I did not tip.

I don't tip on carry out either.
Birdee, I thought cooks make a lot more per hour since they don't work for tips, so why would I want to tip the cook? The waiters and waitresses make like $2 something an hour which is outrageous. I was a waitress for 2 months and will NEVER do it again. You can bust your butt for people and they leave you $1..ahhhhhh

You say there is no service?? What about taking your order, preparing it, packaging it, getting it ready in a timely manner??? That is service!

I tip, but a bit less than if I was sitting down.

I always thought it rather odd to see tip jars at places like Subway and Dunkin Donuts who pay regular hourly wages and don't work for tips like waitresses. I thought it was a New England thing. I'd never seen it until I moved here.
