Please join me on the Girls Night Out group on October 10th for a 8pm EST (7pm CST) chat on "Betch'a Don't know ?"
I am a stay-at-home women and freelance writer, living in a rural area, in Southern NJ. My careers have spanned Education, Nature, Writing to ChildCare. I have owned and operated a local paper, became a Naturalist for the State Parks, a Teacher, to a YMCA Child Care Director. I homeschooled my 4 lovely children when it was not the thing to do and now they are grown adults with family's of there own. I am happily married and travel extensively with my husband. I am in high anticipation of an upcoming trip to Costa Rica were I will be an exchange teacher this coming Nov.
Most girls know the best nights in consist of other girlie friends, a few bottles of vino (or devilish cocktail concoctions) and a good gossip. My Girls Night In will provide all this and more. Whether you are drawn to a familiar writer or someone new, you can dip in and out by commenting, telling tales of yourself at whim, or just pop into read what others reveal about themselves. Either way, raise a glass to toast this eclectic mix and join us on OCT 10 at 8PM EST.

What does Jesse do?
let's see - i live in mid - michigan, on a lake (can you tell from all my photos? haha). we have a 5 yr old daughter, lillie, whom we're homeschooling. a form of homeschooling called unschooling - we LOVE it. we're working on ancient egypt right now. so interesting! i am almost done with my PhD in international education, and got sick in 2000, so we'll see if the dissertation gets done. i have several disabilities - a mobility one from a skateboarding accident when i was 18, and chronic fatigue syndrome. it makes me mad that it is called that. this disease took away so much of my life! argh. anyway, i've written abt all this on gather. life is good - we have lots of love. that's me in a nutshell. well, part of me, anyway. haha.
Do you have names picked out for your little girl to be or are you using her birth name?
april, i love that you have those grants to go and do things. that is awesome! we love to travel - we have to stay put in one place, since i can't get out and about much.
about me: I am a stay at home mother to 2 beautiful boys.
I don't know about MI, but OH has the season change really going on now. Hubby cleaned our gutters a month ago and they're full again. The colors are popping too.
the rip abt chronic fatigue syndrome is that it totally steals your life. my old life - NOTHING from there is present in my life now. everything was taken away. i was bedridden for 2 yrs. i can't be with a group of people - i pass out from all the commotion. i can't drive for more than 15 min - i blank out. i am so tired all the time, pain all teh time, but the worst part, for me, is the neurological difficulties. i know that i am misssing so much! that said - i have learned to live in the present, to have a very small circle of life and enjoy it fully. i have to say, despite all the tiresomeness, i would not trade this life.
amanda - how fun is that? did you have any thomas stuff in the recall today?
Hi, Amanda and Sherry.
amanda - we've never thought abt sending lillie to school - it has always been our goal to do this, and we love it. you can do a million things with homeschooling - a curriculum, or none. there is tons of info out there! good luck with your decision.
we are off to watch a movie - the painted veil. lillie plans to paint, during - she's particularly fascinated with landscapes, and china's is so very different from here. :) thank you, april, and friends, for the conversations!
Amanda, thanks for coming, when I do this again I will let you know. Again thanks for stopping by.
