POETRY POW RULES

It might be a good idea to post the rules of the group right up front so any new member can know what's what.

The rules are simple. Every Saturday morning I will send the group the key word for that week. Those members who want to participate in the poetry challenge will then take that word, and using any derivitive of that word write a poem of no more than (6) six paragraphs or a total of 24 lines.

Example: If the key word is HER - you can use such words as HERE - WHERE - ANYWHERE - HERB - CHERUB, etc., anything with the key word in it

The idea is to use as many derivitives of the key word as you can and make a smooth flowing poem.

Every Friday, around 4:00 p.m. eastern time, I will be judging all entries for the week, looking for a 1st place and a 2nd place winners. The winners will have their poem featured on the home page for the entire week. Plus, they will also win a paper trophy, for 1st place or a paper ribbon for 2nd place that they can upload into their article to show off their wins.

You can enter as many times as you wish, each week

This sounds like an interesting idea and a few of the members have submitted their POW poems to my poetry group Poet's Nook. Not that I mind as they have been quite creative! So creative that I though I'd better check this group out for myself. lol.

Hello i just did my poem on the word ART, i can't seem to find it, but it is my first time ever to write a poem much-less to enter in a contest so i had fun doing it, but i did not get the word till last afternoon, than it was a e-mail saying you had 25 hour's left i had to write back to find out the word so i did it this morning took about 5 minutes so i could get it in so i hope no one laugh's at me , i am new to all this , thanks. This is a really neat thing to do, i understand if i am right every sat- they will give a new word, why did i not get it, maybe because i am new to the group but still do they keep up with the new member's so they can join in, maybe they should post the word for the week under this so us new people could have time to respond to it, oh well such is life, i did it just for fun anyways. Thanks for the group, ten points is deserved for thinking this up, thanks for the new friends, glad to be here, hope in the future i can get the word early enough to be able to work on it,
