It's finally here! Welcome to my Teriffic Twin's Baby shower!
Well, my name is Amylee, but I go by Racheal here on Gather. I am just over 19 weeks pregnant. The way that I found out that I was pregnant was that it was the first day of my missed 'monthly', Hubby, I and our four kids were headed to the dollar store-We treat the kids every few weeks with a trip there. Anyways, on the way I told Hubby as we stopped for gas, "I'm going to get a pregnancy test while I'm in there, not that I think anything, but just to be safe". Yeah, my local dollar store sells pregnancy tests! Better than spending $15 on something you pee on, right? Well, I get it, get home, do the drill, and within a few moments the line appears. I thought maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me, after all with four other kids in the house, Hubby and I don't exactly have a sex life.
So I pick up the test, after about 5 minutes of waiting for the line to disapear, and haul myself into the kitchen, where Hubby was making dinner. All I can blurt out is, "Goddamn it Mr. Aaron!" He spun around, saw the test in my hand and knew.
We were nervous until the first ultrasound. We were happy, after all, anything successful in our lives has been the kids. But at this ultrasound, I was about 11 weeks. The older kids were in school, so we just had our 2 and 3 year old. And they didn't want to be cooped up in the little office. Hubby got fed up with them and took them to the van. I was on the little paper lined bed, feeling really really alone. Thats when the Doctor came in and stuck the ultrasound wand on my belly, and immediately took it off before I could see anything. He was really shocked, and I thought that I had a dead baby inside of me. He asked if I had anyone with me, the nurse told him that Hubby had taken the kids to the van, so he proceeded with part of the ultrasound telling me that he would print a picture and I could take it to him, becuase "he had to see this" because it was twins.
Twins run on both sides of the family, but I never thought that I would be blessed with a set, heck, I didn't even imagine that I would have four kids already, now going on 6!

Also, if any of you have had kids, how did you find out ou were expecting?
With my first child, I found out after I had been sick as a dog with "morning" sickness for several weeks. I was 17 at the time. My family doctor confirmed it- only after going through LONG lists of questions about my period, whether or not I knew how babies were made (yeah, by then, I knew without confirmation, and hellooo- of COURSE I knew how babies were made!), whether or not I was sexually active (agian- that should have been a given).
With Chris, we had been kind of trying, and I had a feeling and couldn't remember when my last period was, so we went to a local pregnancy advocate. They provided free pregnancy tests. Ta da- it was positive.
With Gilly, we'd tried for about 2 months. On Easter Sunday, I came home and took a home pregnancy test, and again, it was positive.
Im carrying these twins like a basketball! Im craving lots of protien. what coul they be?
im going to guess one of each flavor.

how are you feeling?
Im feeling good. Ive been on bedrest for the last month and a half due to a placental tear, but its just about healed. I accually made dinner tonight! but Im playing it off so Hubby will be my maid for the next few months!
Heather, what a b-day presant! I tried having my 3rd on my birthday-but she wouldnt come no matter what I did! she came 5 days later!
My three daughters have little twin sisters...when they first went into foster care they told everyone they were TURTLE twins.

I have 10 grandkids and let me tell you, the boys are much easier to handle than the girls!!! I thought their mothers were drama queens (I had two girls), but these 5 have their mothers beat by a mile!!!!
first of all Congratulations on twins! I am 24 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby.. I could not imagine twins if I got prego again..

I ahve a daughter who is 8. I turned 16 January 3 and had her on February 3rd..
Then I have 2 boys who are 3 and 23 months. My younger son will be 2 April 21st. I am expecting this baby girl July 10th.. but planning on inducing!
