Charles Signorile has put a Republican spin (HERE) on the ARTICLE I published a few days ago, about the UGLY Congressional Dem primary in Memphis. It turned ugliER with a "Jews Hate Jesus" flier slamming the incumbent. The challenger - and the Democratic presidential candidates - should speak out forcefully against this crap!

""""Hillary's team has questions about Obama's Muslim background"""""""
""""""Are the American people ready for an elected president who was educated in a Madrassa as a young boy and has not been forthcoming about his Muslim heritage?
This is the question Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's camp is asking about Sen. Barack Obama.
An investigation of Mr. Obama by political opponents within the Democratic Party has discovered that Mr. Obama was raised as a Muslim by his stepfather in Indonesia. Sources close to the background check, which has not yet been released, said Mr. Obama, 45, spent at least four years in a so-called Madrassa, or Muslim seminary, in Indonesia.
"He was a Muslim, but he concealed it," the source said. "His opponents within the Democrats hope this will become a major issue in the campaign.""""

Here is a link to an Air America liberal's comments regarding uncle tom and aunt Jemima. You have to be willfully ignorant to have not noticed all the vitriolic hatred from leftist blogs and radio hosts who routinely use racial slurs against minorities they don't agree with. Lets not forget that Imus is a democrat.
And you are right to ask, WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE OVER THIS?
Please, Jeff. Let's not confuse Paul's issue. This attack with hateful religious propaganda is unconscionable. Let's just all agree on that rather than name-call other people to draw attention away from the original point of this article.
Can't we just agree on some rules of engagement that include respect for each other? Barack Obama has raised the bar on respectful interchanges through the sheer force of his personality. With all due respect (and I mean this sincerely) maybe you could use your passion, Jeff, for that good purpose too.
There are lots of nasty remarks that have been made over the years, but campaigning with hatefulness in 2008 seems a little Neanderthal to me. Paul is correct. None of us should tolerate it.
and I want to REPEAT
WERE NOT
Republicans.
I want to be clear on that.
They were Hillary Clinton supporters, fearful of the Barack Obama campaign.
Please do not play little games on it.
Jeff is correct in that this is not always about and/or done along Party lines.
You can take that little theory and trash it.
Democrats do as much hating as anybody else.
Hatred knows -- or is not limited to one specific political Party.
Where in the world did this notion arise????
Say what????
Huh?
What?
Huh?
Oh, you know, the scandal where Senator Obama seems to have NOT gotten one single vote in such a liberal town as New York City in 80 precincts was also the mastermind of the Republican Party????
Well, well, well -- you don't say!!!
Is that really true?
Of all places, this scandal just happens to occur in the 50 states -- the one where Hillary Clinton is Senator -- hmmmm.
All I can say -- putting the best possible spin on it for Senator Hillary Clinton -- is that if she cannot manage better than that in her own state then she certainly cannot manage a Presidency. Imagine what voting scandals would go on in the entire country were SHE running IT.
Sheeeesh!
You are the only one claiming that this is some sort of scandal, let alone trying to pin responsibility on a candidate. Preliminary results often have such glitches, and believe me, both campaigns had people there keeping a close eye on the vote-counting process. By the way, Sen. Clinton has zero "management" over state or local govt in NY.
Another by the way, the exit polls show a 57%-40% margin - exactly the same as the most recent results show.

Anyway, enough of that side issue, and on to another one. Yes, unfortunately, there are haters and (race)baiters in both parties. (I recently recounted my personal anecdotal evidence of that.) Was ONE Clinton campaign staffer found circulating the scurrilous e-mail about Sen. Obama? Yes, and he was unceremoniously let go.
Is most of the race talk currently taking place in the Democratic primary race? Yes. Because that is where Obama is presently running. And, don't for a second think that most of the people circulating it are Democrats - most are undoubtedly non-Democrats who are taking advantage of the cover provided by the primary. Will it stop if/when Obama is on the Democratic ticket (in either position)? Heck, no, you'll be getting it in your inbox more than V!agr@ e-mails. Hmmmmm.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for trying to re-focus on the original "Jews Hate Jesus" issue. I agree that Sen. Obama has done a pretty good job on avoiding hatefulness, and he distanced himself quickly from the hate propounded by Louis Farrakhan; I'd like to see him do so here, where there is a Christian (written) attack on Jews.
