ARTICLE HERE. Not often you see that, especially with an absence of major scandal. It appears that the common factor is that the voters felt that their Representatives were TOO CENTRIST. If this demonstrates anything, it is that primaries help maintain the divisiveness most of us bemoan.

"Centrist" in the age of Bush is right wing -- its just the people trying to take back their country.

George: I couldn't decide what term to use there - there are shades of differences. And, I agree that "the center" moved to the right over the past 10-20 years, and is starting to move back. Perhaps more appropriate in the above context would have been "less liberal" for the Democrat who was defeated, and "less conservative" for the Republican. But, I opted for the less wordy term.

I DON'T necessarily agree that each party moving away from the middle is a way to take back our country. I think it is more likely a way to lurch back and forth and cause more and more divisiveness. A better way to move the center is to take back the center.

History is on your side, Paul. We have years of a "do nothing" Congress to prove it.

The Democrats are replenishing their supply after years of a self-imposed drought, the Republicans are not. How the center can still be to the right, given that fact, is pure rhetoric.

Just about the entire center are Democratic party members, whether you agree with them or not.
