A very interesting speculative ARTICLE about what is going through Sen. Edwards' head after meeting with Sen. Clinton last week and after his meeting with Sen. Obama was called off. Three points grabbed my attention.
First, "several" of his advisers likened it to a do I go with my heart or go with my head kind of thing. I can relate because I have felt the same push-pull over the past several months. I often end up following my heart in these kind of primary decisions, but chose my head in deciding to support (and continue supporting) Clinton. That may be because my heart and head are both closely-divided on this race - my enlarged left auricle and right hemisphere are slightly for Clinton, I think. (Needless to say, I will be happy if Obama is our nominee, but I like the Clinton choice a bit better.)
Second, this quote from a (former) aide: "He is much more torn than people realize," said one former aide who has stayed in contact with Edwards. "Honestly, he has serious reservations about both of them."
DUHHHHH! He thinks he was the best candidate - as every candidate must. No candidate ever perfectly matches what we want in our President. We must do the best we can with what we are offered.
Finally, I think it is interesting that he apparently "realizes" that he would get more "jolt" out of endorsing Clinton - because it is more unexpected. Perhaps, that means that Clinton is willing to offer more in return for his support than Obama is.
(Edited to add the link I forgot to put in initially. Sorry.)

Plus, he's a bleeding heart, so this makes it easy to do the wrong thing, then justify it later. He does that frequently.
Just one of those strong feelings, nothing to back it up.
"Wanna back that up, Bret?"
Of course I do, Paul.
And I can do so with just one short phrase : "Two Americas".
Pure heart, no head. The facts just don't back up Edwards' claims of class warfare. It just isn't in evidence until a politician like him tries to make it into something it isn't.
