The deadline was Monday for candidates to file their affidavit to appear on Arizona's presidential primary ballot. The primary is on Super-Duper-Humungo-Tuesday, Feb. 5. Given today's news, it is not surprising that Republican TOM TANCREDO did NOT submit his name. But, I just heard Democrat JOE BIDEN interviewed a couple of weeks ago, saying that if he could break into the top three in Iowa..........
Well, Joe did NOT submit his name, either. Looks like an acknowledgment that his campaign will end in the corn fields.
[I should note that AZ voters (including Independents, who can choose either) will have 24 names to choose from on the Democratic ballot and 24 on the Republican ballot. All a "candidate" had to do was submit the two page notarized application; when I was in Tucson last month, I noted their weekly paper was encouraging people to "run", helping them with notary and delivery services, and promising coverage to some of them. So, I am only surprised that there aren't a couple of hundred names on the ballot!]

Thanks.
For all other primary elections, Indies CAN vote in either party's primary. That was passed by voters several years ago.
Sorry about the mis-direction. I'll e-mail this to you, too.
That might be something fun to do next election cycle. Try to find out how many state ballots you can have your name added to without paying a fortune. Too bad I don't live in California. I could have run for governor.
Yep, Kathleen, he just has not been able to catch a tailwind with the bigger star power in the race. Matt may be right, that Edwards would be the one to surprise the top two.
