And, we're not talking former Mexican President Vicente Fox, either.
Fox tried to force Sen. McCain from using footage of himself from the Fox News debate. They then expanded the ban to all candidates, to dispel charges of playing favorites. Now, an alliance of MoveOn.org and bloggers from the right and left are blasting Fox, urging them to allow the unrestricted use of footage from a debate exclusively broadcast on Fox.
This alliance was successful in fighting the other networks earlier this year. You would think that Fox would have been paying attention. And, actually, they probably were, but they apparently thought they would be able to get away with singling out McCain.
When this effort is successful - and I don't see any reason why it won't be - it will be a victory for our political and media systems. And, it will be an example of common interests that would hopefully prompt partisans to realize that the world is filled with shades of gray between the blacks and whites on issues that they usually take.
