You know those stories about generations of women helping the youngest to have and raise a baby, the whole "it takes a village" thing? Or tales of a mother and daughter who heal an estranged relationship through the birth of a beloved grandchild?
Well, this isn't one of those stories.
This is a story of a daughter fiercely choosing to be a mother despite the lack of evidence that her own mother enjoyed the role very much or that as a member of the first real post Roe v. Wade generation, she spent most of her time and energy trying not to have a baby.
