Here are just a couple of moments from a walk around Lake Wedington here in Arkansas.
Spending time near a body of water has always had a calming effect on me, causing me to slow down and let the woes of the world slip away.

The details that had been just a blur as I rushed along start to come into focus.

Beauty emerges from what would normally be overlooked.

I find myself taking time to notice colors and contrasts

and remembering that so much can be found in the details.

In the end, the gift that I carry away, is to have been there to bear witness to the glory of the moment.

Nature is my greatest teacher for it is in her presence that I can remember to be here, now.

We can't appreciate the beauty of the smallest of things going 100 miles an hour. We just zip on by never knowing any better. Thanks for the reminder. :-)
I like the contrast with the red leaf and the disruption of pattern and texture that the tree stump exhibits.
You also just gave me my answer. We were debating over the week-end whether we still wanted to put in a pond in the back of our property and after seeing your water lily pads, I knew we did. I think the project will be started over the next couple weeks. Well, at least we could lay out the plans. :-)
Love and hugs - S.
U wishing you laughter
