Saturday was an absolutly gorgeous day in my neck of the woods. I had planned to spend the entire day working on the bathroom remodel, but my mom called me around noon. She said that it was far too nice out for me to be trapped inside my bathroom slaving away. So, I hopped in the shower, and she picked me up, and we went to Selby Gardens for the after noon. I am so glad I went too, because the weather was just perfect that day too. Definatly a day to be outside!
I have been to Selby many times, but every time I am there, I find a bunch of new things! They have such a wide variety of plants, that some visits you might miss a few things, or certain things may not be blooming, so it's always a treat!
I thought I would publish some of the more unusual things that I found on this trip!

I am not sure of the names of the flowers above. The first photo below is a photo of some lady slipper orchids. The second photo is a flower from a banana tree. The third photo is another type of orchid...look at the crinkly flowers!

This next plant's flowers were not very noticable to me right away. The leaves were just about the same color as the flowers.

These next two photos are of a succulent. One is the full shot, and the other is the close up of the flowers.

Here are some more of the more unusual flowers I saw...

The above photo's flowers were actually growing on some sort of tree. And the picture below may be a weed...I found it growing by a pond!

This last photo is of a sago palm, and it's 'bloom'...

Hope you all enjoyed the plants and their unusual flowers. I also know that it is cold for most of you, so I hope this warmed up your dau a little bit!

Great photos of the blooms. Sounds like you have a wonderful time. I can't wait until I can get outside and take pics of my blooming pretties.
