A 'Search' Through Pinecraft Park.

My son and I went to Pinecraft Park last week, (in Sarasota, Florida). We sort of turned the visit into a 'search' to see what neat things we could find.

Pinecraft Park is a really neat park. They have the normal area, with the playground, and then they have a covered patio with picnic tables...but Pinecraft Park has a little something extra...they have woods!!

This photo essay will take you through the woods at Pinecraft Park, and show you all the neat things my son and I found on our 'adventure'!  There are a ton of pictures, and if you want to see any of them bigger just click on the box in the upper right hand corner!!

This is the bridge that takes you from the regular park, and parking lot, into the woods! There is a little stream that runs underneath, but it was a dry summer, so that was dry.

After you get into the wooded part, there are trails through it...we walked on the trails, as well as off them too! My son and I started to 'search' for 'cool' things, as he puts it!! We found some really neat things too!!

We found flowers...(well mostly weeds, I think, but still pretty!)

And we found berries...

And we found fungus!!

The second picture didn't turn out very well, but they looked like little buttons all over the log!

My son spotted this little guy growing on a branch!

These were are favorite fungi of all...

 They were growing all over this old log!!

We also found some wildlife...

This is a bird, there were actually two of them playing in the tangled branches.

And of course a squirrel!

We also found a few other neat little things...

potatos... 

moss...

And even a Cave!

We also came across lots of holes! 

Then we found a 'staircase' made out of tree roots...

We went up it, and we found water! We found the most beautiful creek I have ever seen...(as if that neat staircase wasn't enough!)

We followed it along...taking photos, of course... 

until we came to a little bank, and could see the bigger body of water...

The name of this is actually Philippe Creek, and it is a very long creek that goes through the town pretty far!

I hope you enjoyed what we found on our 'search' through Pinecraft Park! We sure had a good time taking the photos and discovering all these 'cool' things!! And I had a wonderful time putting it together for all my Gather friends to see!!
