This chapter is about all the wonderful trees through out the gardens. They really have some amazing trees there! Let's get started!!
This first tree was quite different. It had little clusters of flowers and buds growing from the trunk, and the bark!
I have never seen anything like it before. It also
had some sort of 'fruit' as well, as you can see in the second photo.
As we walked through the gardens we kept saying to eachother, "Oh Oh, Look at this!" and, "Over here, you've got to see this!" It's amazing that there are so many different typesof trees, especially all gathered together in one big botanical garden!

This tree had 'thorns' all over it. They actually looked like hershey's kisses! This sign was posted in front of it as well...I couldn't get the whole thing in mu camera view , anmd still be able to read it, but here's a little peice of it,
The next tree on our walk was so neat looking. It looked very 'smooth'. The bark looked slick, like you would just slide right down it if you tried to climb!
It was also a grey color, as you can see fro
m the photos.
And of course I have to add a palm tree to the article, it is Florida after all. This palm has a bunch of coconuts on it!
There were a few oak trees with bromiliads growing way up in the branches too!

And some with staghorn ferns.
(Use the image box at the top of the article to see the bigger pictures)~
And we can't forget our little furry squirrel friends. This little guy had some lunch in his mouth, and held onto it tight as he ran up this tree!
And last, but certainly not least, we can't forget the wonderful collection of Banyan trees! There were so many different Banyan trees. I think those are just the best trees ever! They are so neat looking. I love the huge roots that just grow down!

These are closeups of the roots from two different trees.

In the second photo, I decidedto stand among the roots, so you can see how big these trees actually are!
I leave chapter two with one last picture of some Banyan tree roots ~
I do hope you enjoyed the second chapter in the Selby Gardens tour. If you missed chapter one, here's the link http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977091041
