Our roses are in full bloom, and I hope you enjoy looking at one of them: the eglantine, which was in the garden when we bought the house in 1982. It climbs over the fence and is an absolutely riotous bloom with a delightfully
delicate fragrance.
I have some more roses, one that was once called Chrysler Royal, but, because the graft was covered over when the hosue was remodelled, it lost its hybridity and reverted to its original form. I'll publish a photo of that one later. We also have Tropicana, which I planted about twenty-five years ago, and which I'll also show you later.

The photo above is the mountain laurel in full bloom. In fact, just a little past full glory. It is competing with a rose of sharon, a form of temperate-climate hibiscus, which blooms much later in the year and that has babies all over the place.
