Look What I Awoke to This Morning: My Memory Garden

Yesterday I wrote a photo essay on my garden.  When I awoke this morning I couldn't believe the changes in one day.  Oh sure, I saw the buds...but to open over night, to me is an incredible miracle.

Some in the front gardens, while others have a pond side view. 

 

 

 

 

I was surprised to see the Korean Dwarf Lilac had come into view.

an 'Olga Mezitt' rododendron flower is a feast for this bee. 

 

 

 

  

His brother is busy sipping nectar from the Northern Lights azalea behind.

As I walk through my garden, I wonder what tomorrow will bring.....I see the buds...the promise...the promise of asters and Black-eyed Susans, primrose and sage....toad lilies and speedwell....but just not today.

Bobbi, that was an incredible photo essay you did on your walk through the "Northern Woods". Finding and photographing all those patterns in nature on one walk...unbelievable. As with me, nature and all its secrets, rest in your soul.

Katrina...can you believe this happened overnight. I posted all flowering plants yesterday...but today....WOW!

Amy, As yet, my Sarah Bernhardt peony is NOT in bloom...but it has BUDS...lots of BUDS!

Oh what a beautiful garden!!! So full of color!!! Things are so strange this year...I hope everything doesn't bloom all at once!!! I am looking forward to my late blooming plants coming in August...but even they are startiing to bud now!!!

My peonies are just about to bloom but right now it is chilly and overcast so they may not come out today. My 2 tiny lilac bushes have flowers for the first time this year. Hooray. I love the scent of lilacs.

Isn't it amazing what one day can do in a garden?

Yup, Wilma, I think we found a new friend in Bobbi K.....it was very intriguing what she can do with her camera. She has a good "eye" and she's willing to experiment with the tools on her computer.

Last time I was at the pond, it looked like a Siberian winter had just ended. I hope my plants up in the city look this nice this spring/summer.

Tonia...it's early morn and I just took a walk out among my flowers and once again, more things are showing...though as yet, no Siberian Iris...I see buds...but none have flowered. I really like the foliage on the Siberian far better then the Bearded, but Gramma Bess loved Bearded and so they are for her.
Just beautiful, Elizabeth!

Here in West Oz the golden wattle is in bloom - and throughout the forest near my home. It has a powerful but heavenly, heady scent.

Shannon, David, Nana and Layla, Thanks for you kind comments...I just love my gardens and to think 3 years ago I knew NOTHING about plants...didn't even know the difference between perennial and annual...now that's really dumb, huh?

I know more today about gardening, marianne, then i did yesterday...but i still have lots to learn. I know someone who knows are the Latin names....having taken latin myself, I thought that might be cool...but then i thought, would that make my garden grow any better?
