Let's play a game...
As I'm sure you're all very painfully aware of gas prices steadily climbing. How much are you paying at the pump? In the comment field below, tell us how much did you pay per gallon last time you filled your tank? Let's all check back next week to find out who is paying the most. Unfortunately having the highest number doesn't make you a winner in the real world. However, it will be interesting to know how much or how little we're all paying.
Not only does gas cost you money, but it has a negative impact on the environment. Also tell us how do you plan to cut down on your gas consumption?
***Update 5/19/08***
After writign this, I came across quite a few articles on gas prices. I thought this one by Jodi V. was very interesting. It was written almost a year ago. Check out how much prices have changed from then to today.

I filled up yesterday. It was $390 a gal but I had fuel perks so I got it for $3.25. It cost me $37.00 to fill up my subaru but it had a half tank. I have some photos to scan and post later of the pump signs.
We had to significantly revise our road trip vacation for the season due to gas prices and other costs affecting how much we could save for the trip.
We have garaged one car and are commuting every day either via ride share or bus.
I rarely drive and am now on about empty, so I am lamenting that I did not fill up while the gas costs were less.
My gas station is currently selling "plus" for $4.08.
We filled up yesterday at $3.57 per gallon. At a Wa Wa here in NJ were gas has been consistently lower then else where.
That may have been cheap, I tried to stay away from stations on the main routes
I need to have a garage sale at my rural property, but I am doubtful if I will get much traffic not only because I live in one of the more economically depressed areas in Michigan, but because the cost of gas would seem to prohibit cruising about looking for sales.
There is a family reunion 750 miles (each way) from where I live. 3 of us had planned to carpool, but we found that a fly/sleep/car vacation package would be far less expensive. 2 of the group aren't keen of flying, but we would need to rent a larger vehicle (they are older) to make a driving trip pallatable but the gas burned would be a real issue (as we'd have one week in-town driving, we can rent a smaller, more efficient car for that leg of the journey rather than chugging for the whole time).
Locally, I'm doing more walking.
Donna filled up our little Aveo yesterday. We go to our big box grocer's gas stations, where we can get twenty cents per gallon off this month. I think she told me she ended up paying $3.739 per gallon.
As for reducing our consumption.. we just plain don't drive as much as we used to. We've increased our homebody-ness.
In HIS love, light, and blessings~T
And how many oil companies are now in the Fortune 10, as opposed to two only five years ago, and how many of them are posting record profits? The price of oil has gone up maybe 200% but the price of petrol has gone up around 500%. And President Bush is calling on OPEC to increase production to bring down the price of oil. It's not the price of oil that's doing this to us so much as it is the greed of the oil corporations.
I think that the oil corporations see their end within the next 50 years and they're just trying to make as much money off everyone now as is possible, using the increase in the price of oil just as an excuse.

We try to combine errands, and our cars get great gas mileage!
The highest gas price listed here was from Jill~Sexy Back~ V.. One gas station in her town is charging $4.50 per gallon!
It will be interesting to see how all of these prices change in 6 months to a year. Let's hope the change is for the better.
