My craft fair theme this year, and my two photo...

This year I want to do a different theme then last year, for my craft show. Last year I did fairies. This year my theme is, bring nature indoors, “the essence of nature”

I went to the dollar store, to see what deals I could find, as their inventory is always changing.

I found lot of great things, to make.

First, I liked the design your own plate, they are light weight and your imagination can go wild.

I also got a few different photo frames to design.

I found good size bags of black and white river rocks.

Along with aprons with no print on them, which is great for adding designs.. And what a great price.

I couldn't wait to get started making things.

I decided to work on a couple of art frames

The first was an idea of adding the white river stones to the wooden frame

Second was a more dramatic, I call it fire and ice

What great fun! I make jewelry, and I did craft fairs every weekend for years! I hope to return to it after retirement, when there's time to breathe again. It's fun and very profitable.

thank you Joanne, I use to have a small store in VA. To exspensive up here in MA to rent out a place.. I have a small space in a flea market type place for now and I do vending at craft fairs. I love the holiday season.. it helps money wise. I would love to see your jewlery

As I mentioned, I quit for lack of time, although I still have all the equipment and a bit of inventory. I look forward to retirement for many reasons, but getting back to business is one of the most fun!
I was born in Mass, although I don't remember it, but I would think the weather makes a very short season for fairs. In Miami, they're on just about all year long! Instead of shivering, as you probably do, we sweat like crazy!

its not to bad here, we have the art shows during the summer and the Pagan events and in the colder months the holiday craft fairs

So you hold a craft show every year? How do you do that? Are you part of some sort of group or do you do this independently?

thank you, I apply to craft fairs in my area usually vend the same ones every year. The holiday seasons are the best and in the summer are the art shows. I had a small cottage store in Chester, VA. the rent was cheap.. only $200 a month. Cant find anything like that up here in MA. I do have a space in a marketing, sort of a flea market that runs me $400 a month.
