We've got a family of ducks on our lake! The ducklings seem to be unclear on the concept of lining up to follow mom. Looks like animal moms have the same problems as human moms.
Pay attention, ducklings. Today's lesson is how to line up and follow Mom.
Now, come on, duckies. You can't all be first! Behind Mom, not beside. Pay attention and stop goofing off!

This is going to be harder than I thought.

Okay, we'll go over it again. Everyone get behind the tail of a sibling.

What part of one at a time is so hard to understand? Line up and follow the tail in front of you. Let's try again.

Well, it needs work, but you're catching on. Let's go find some dinner.

Off to learn to catch fish for dinner. A mother's work is never done.

You captured an awesome sequence. I wish Streaker and I could visit skidway. Would you have us?
"Left right left right, c'mon duckies we aint' got all night. One two three four, that big old shark may come back for more. Five, six, seven, eight - who's to say the last time he ate. Left right left right, you're gonna keep swimming til you get this right"
- Drill Sargeant "Big Beak" Mallard - during the swim on Rome.
We would love to have you! Does Streaker like pontoon boats? There are several friendly dogs nearby, too.
Oh my gosh....could they be any cuter? Thanks for posting this to Celebrating the Joy of Ordinary Days....it is now featured!
Great pictures. We lived on a live creek for several years, and each year it was fun to watch the different families go through their trials and tribulations.

The photos are great. Animals are not so different from humans. These photos are just one more reminder of that.
